Wedding ring dilemma

I remember hearing about that (I post very occasionally on that website). Sorry to hear about your experience and I didn't mean to take away from it. I just wanted to mention that mine was stellar and I know quite a few other people who would agree.
But I hope that mess was figured out. I can't even imagine the stress you must've been under!
It finally was, thankfully. And I have a few friends that had good experiences and some who had worse than mine. It just did a lot of damage. Over a stupid little material item.

I also think going with Tiff's or another brand when you have a budget to stick to is not necessarily the best way to go. But of course that is totally dependent on the look you're going for. If it fits the budget and it's what you want, by all means get it! :smile1:

I appreciate two viewpoints. I got some earrings from blue nile and had a great experience, so if I was to go with one of those types of stores it would probably be them again.

I got the Tiffany etoile in plat and love it! When I got married (at the time I didn't have an e-ring), we could hardly afford to buy rings and I considered several "plain" bands from Tiffany's and some DY rings. In the end I decided not to get a DY ring, since they tend to get dirty very easily and don't sparkle too much once they are dirty.

this is my first time posting on this forum but I have always been admiring everyones gorgeous jewellery.
Have you thought about pandora's white gold rings with diamonds, they have some really beautfiful ones & they are a little different?

Pandora is not really my cup of tea, EVERYONE where I live has it so I would like to get something a little less prevalent so it is more special to me. Thank you for the suggestion though!

I want to make sure you know that the Tiffany band will likely not be a size 5 and might not ship right away. You might want to call them before you buy it online.

I'd go with the Metro. The diamonds should be nice so you'll get sparkle. The ring is classic. Plus, down the road, you could add any type of ring or another band and have a totally different look. Your style may change but a classic never goes out of style and worth the money.
CALL NOW...I'm very happy for you!

What about the dior OUI ring (means yes in french) this ring is so cute, I have it and wear it everyday!! The regular version is around $600 and the pave is about $1500 I think...

in terms of style i like the yurman the best. its nice and substantial and i love that it kind of criss crosses. if you like the rolling ring style, im sure you could get a non-cartier version in 14kt gold that would come close to your budget

Tiffany actually has all the sizes on their website, which is why I have been looking at it so hard because I know I can get it quickly. It is my own fault for waiting so long that I'm in this position with limited choices.

Anyway, I did it! I decided a little tradition in my life can't be a bad thing and as much as I loved the DY crossed bands I just couldn't see it being a "forever" piece. I ordered the Metro in WG and the Novo band (1/2 not full eternity) in Platinum to see which one I like better, but I will probably be going with the Metro.

I went by a local store and got sized before ordering and ended up deciding that a 5.5 will probably work better. The 5 fit better in the finger but it was tough getting on and off (read: painful) and since I'm at my lowest weight of my adult life it seems more likely than not that at some point in the life of this ring I'll gain some weight.

They were able to expedite the shipping for me so they will both be here Thursday which gives me plenty of time to decide before the big day next week.

Thanks everyone for all of the help and ideas!:smile1::D

YAY! I can't wait to see pics when you get both AND what you decide to keep!

I think if you can get a plain band with your metro you will have a set that you can build on. The Novo might work ok alone.
