Tell me about it. I have to stop looking at pics of bling.

If you wanna "hate" on someone's skinny fingers: SK wears like a 2 and a half or sometihng equally amazing. ENVY.

I had a weird "whoa your ring is huge" moment yesterday at the grocery store. Some lady was like "holy crap that rock is gigantic, what are you doin' shopping here with all that money". I think I said "I have to shop here since I spent all my money on this thing!"

Ame - haha love the response! The way a diamond is cut definitely makes it glow larger.

I don't regret for a second that I added a halo to my ring. It's meant to be

I'm soooo glad you love it! I love my ring and love Tacori! Have always wanted one of thier designs and you can't have a tacori without the halo! For some reason their other designs don't make my heart pitter patter like the teeny halos. My ring and setting and eveything was meant to be! I even finally found my maple leaf inscription! Haha and you lucky girl contessa get to have the best of all worlds with solitaires and halos!

YOU are lucky too! I wasn't even dreaming of such a ring when I got engaged!

The modern women these days seem to know what they want in both a man & their jewels! ;)

That is very true.

I got a giggle out of the exchange. I felt like a bit of an a-hole the way I shot it back but it was fleeting. That is a location I normally do not frequent though.

Poor DF! Lol I know I'm so lucky that he loves me and would give me anything to make me happy. I still feel guilty we spent so much. If I could have kept the color at G, I would have but the stock in hearts and arrows just weren't found. We also went into the purchase with a "no upgrades no changes no nothing" mentality and he wanted it to be substantial enough for me years down the line. I told him I could have been happy with a solitaire and was more picky about the diamond. But when we looked at the Tacori settings he saw the basket and he fell in love with it more than I did. It was odd and I didn't expect it from him at all to not compromise the setting.

My ring is substantial against his family and we haven't shown them because they live about an hour away and I'm not sure how they will react because they mostly have smaller rings. But DF was under strict instructions from his grandma and dad to give me what I want! Haha

I wouldn't think you were an a-hole if I was asking you that. I would have just laughed it off. To be honest I might have given a similar response or something really sarcastic. Haha DF calls it my "spunk". His coworker asked me how large my ring is and I said "It's just the perfect size for my first marriage!" hahaha DF was there and we both laughed cause he knows I'm just being ridiculous! My dad said something similar when we went dress shopping and the sales person gave us a funny look.

Now this I like!

But you don't strike me as the "demanding, unreasonable, *B*" who will stop at nothing until she gets what she wants ;)

I'm not! So that's why his grandma and dad told him to give me what I want since I don't ask for anything ever. DF is so sweet and in his past relationships the women took advantage of him an I think they see I would sooner get into a fight with someone to protect him from them taking advantage before I would try to get something from him.

I did get more vocal in the engagement ring process though because this is something I'm wearing for the rest of my life! Also, DF gave his ex an engagement ring before so i wanted nothing to be reminiscent of that ring! I believe it was a princess set in platinum so I told him we going opposite direction in all wedding planning aspects! Luckily her and I have very different tastes!

WISE and SAGE advice ;)

I STILL feel serious guilt for how much we spent. I really did not want to spend more than the insurance and we went well beyond. I just think of all the stuff we could've done with those funds.

I LOVE that answer!

My diamond wedding band is a 2 1/4 with the sizing bars. When I was pregnant I had to wear a size 2 band to keep my rings on because my babies sucked out every last ounce of fat I had. I'm backwards..I realize.
My ering wedding combo is 9 mm wide and is a 4.25 to get over my knuckles, with sizing bars that bring it down to a 3.25 or a 3...I don't rememeber. So basically I don't know what size I actually am.

I was shopping at a thrift store today and realized I had my ering on (I usually try to just wear a band when I go there) and I felt really uncomfortable about it. I dont like being all in others face with my ring. It's why I just wore a band for the last year and a half. I don't know where you were, but I probably would tell people it was fake to not get robbed. However..I love your answer!!

I knew EXACTLY what I wanted in a man, not so much in a ring. I'm not sure PS even existed back then...lol. We were already engaged (with a plain wedding band) but when we went to get my first diamond it was just sorta like "well, what in here looks nice that we can afford" lol. I knew there were deep diamonds and shallow diamonds and just tried to eye them up to make sure it was neither..lol.

Schnucks at Hamp and Grav. I was in a pinch for some things, so I just went to that one as it was on the way. I HATE Schnucks with the passion of all the gods. Esp. that one. I never even thought to say fake, but I might if it ever comes up. I think she was implying that "my people" were at Dierbergs or Whole Paycheck or something haha
