Thank you!! Your bag is beautiful - I hope she returns to you soon :) Can't wait to see the hotstamp!

She arrived today with her embossed hot stamp. I received a call from the Hot Stamp Specialist, he told me the gold or color hot stamp lettering does not last very long on vintage bags and will begin to peel off because of the type of leather on the older bags. He suggested embossing, and I was quite ok with that (I initially requested the metallic gold letters).

It looks so nice!!!! They did a great job :)

I have just bought a Saint Cloud and am waiting for it to wing its way to me :D

It does have a sticky pocket but I have read what to do to get rid of that so I'm not worried.
I think it will be perfect for day to day getting about and travel too as its a cross body bag.
I love all my LV and all mine is vintage.

However, in a world where everyone seems to wear DE Neverfulls (that's what it seems like everyone has round where I live) I think it takes confidence to wear a discontinued vintage piece and sometimes I lack a bit of confidence.
Does anyone else find this or do you rock bags like Saint Cloud easily?
(I hope this makes sense!)

Hi everyone.
Just got this bag last week, my keepall 45 vintage made in february 1984. Its already 32 years old. I guess I cant use term "baby" anymore on this bag hahaha. The datecode is SA 842.

The only thing that bothering me is one of the zipper doesnt work, so i take it LV store and got it replaced.

And the other thig is that theres water marks on the leather strap that going around the bag and the handle has some black stain. But it doesnt bother me at all. :)

I want to get a speedy 30 vintage 1984. She's well used. Handles are quite dark interior is stained. Clearly the bag was used but is it worth it? Can the handles be somewhat cleaned?

I think the handle can be cleaned, theres some several method you can use, like Vachetta cleanser from "Lovin my bag" or simply baby wipes and leather conditioner, but based on experience, dont use magic eraser to clean it. It will lighten your handle but it will also taking out the shine on the vachetta. I tried Baby wipes+leather conditioner on my keepall, the handle used to be uneven and very dark black, but now its lighter, more even color, honey color and not dark black anymore.
I actually prefer dark handle on speedy 25 or 30. ....like dark cognac. :)

I bought my first LV bag 30 some years ago. It was the 10" Speedy and I still have it. The handles are fairly dark and the bag could use a good cleaning. It looked good until my daughter found it and used it while she was in high school. I used the bag everyday for years. Those early bags were made so well - I paid $295 for it and thought it was a fortune at the time.

I had another Vuitton before that, it was a gift. My husband was working in Palm Beach, FL and came home with a Vuitton shoulder bag. I nearly died when I opened the box late one night. The sales slip was in the box and he paid over $200 for it. We were newly married and didn't have a lot of money.
That bag was lined in tan leather, it's very small inside but it's beautifully made. That was in the '70s and I still have the bag.

Vintage Vuitton's were so well made - they don't make them like that anymore. Those bags are worth collecting.

I bought my Speedy bag the week Saks opened in Cincinnati, Ohio. I drove 100 miles and took my Mother with me. I found the year - it was 1983. I bought it for $225, not $295.
