I notice you have a lot of willises on your list! That’s one I would like to try out but I’m concerned about the top handle. Since it isn’t a small bag, I just wonder if I would damage the turn lock if I carry it by the handle when it’s heavy?

I’m always low key looking for the courier pouch too. But the ones I’ve seen are usually in not so great condition and super expensive especially if I add in shipping. So I’ve convinced myself to not put that one on the list.

Thanks to this forum i am now in possession of bags that I didn’t know about 6 months ago! and your Crosby is giving me ideas! So while I’ve never thought of writing down a list, I’ll make one now, not in any particular order:

1. court bag - any colour other than black
2. Crosby in any colour
3. mini shopper (ideally red, but not sure how I feel about the magnetic closure)
4. Willis (a reasonably priced one in reasonable condition, any colour)
5. red pocket purse (!)
6. Green/navy blue basic bag with the double spaghetti straps

(I recently got a basic bag in black with the adjustable strap - I mostly got it for the strap to use on my pocket purse. lol.. but turns out I’m really liking the bag! It’s currently drying after its bath and I can’t wait to use it!)

ETA: and +1 for houseof999’s awesome storage and display system!
The Willis is one of the best daily carry bags for me. I like to carry a full sized wallet and I often haul my full sized tablet around with me, which fits into the back pocket though it does stick out the top a bit. The top handle is securely attached to the dowel and has no effect on the turn lock at all. It really is a brilliantly designed bag for my needs.

I saw a basic bag in burgundy on ebay and I'm sorry I didn't go for it. It's such a practical, cute bag. Hmmmmm.....the list grows.

Lol I had to go back and see how I replied to this list! I loosely like a lot of what others listed. As did others, I don’t necessarily have an itemized list, but I would like to continue to add color. I did get a little cornflower blue Abbie and a Periwinkle Maggie. (Side note. I did pick up a non vintage pebbled tote in Sunflower Yellow and Legacy Flap in Citron. I am becoming more interested in unusual non vintage bags as I come across them. I do have a short HG list of those. ) I had wanted a Sheridan and a green bag, got the small drawstring Sheridan in dark green. The jury is still out on that one. I did get a somewhat distressed BT Plaza on impulse. The real highlight was Shoulder Bag Small aka Little Station Bag. For my Small Bag Collection!
I can’t believe I’m saying this, I might cave the next time I see a Sling in purple. Like just about everyone else in vintage land, would like a few of the bags offered in bright colors from the late 90s. And a Pony lol.
I did forget, there is a vintage bag called the Portfolio Tote (thanks to Valv posting a chart from the Coach event) that is an open tote with two flap pockets on either side , along with Pony is a true HG. There is a Bleeker Shopper tote that appears inspired by it. I may need to settle for that! And I am now , for some reason, looking at vintage Dooney Teton drawstring bags!

Kindred soul on the Dooney Teton drawstring. I have a small one that I treasure.

My Coach holy grail (or maybe it's more of a unicorn) is a NYC Saddle Bag Small in Sage.

Oh that’s really good to know. What bothers me about some of the top handle bags I have is definitely how it feels like the turn lock has a lot of structural (?) responsibility... like on the Regina or casino, and to a lesser extent the station and winnie. (Although the winnie and casino are so small I suppose it’s not really an issue, and I mostly shoulder carry the station anyway.)

I suspect that the basic bag might become a daily carry for me. Everything about it is just perfect for my needs (it fits my iPad mini for when I want to carry it around ;)). This is making me rethink the red pocket purse on my list, maybe that needs to become a red basic bag! Lol

Speaking of red bags my red Costa Rican station arrived! She is in fantastic condition and the leather is perfectly smooshy! (I got really lucky here since the bag seems unused. It is so pretty but the bag itself and the strap edge seem quite new.. my US green station came in similar condition but not smooshy!) I now GET the obsession with red bags - It is such a gorgeous colour!! There were a few scratches on her but I rubbed some cpr on her and now I don’t notice them anymore!

I've always wanted a Dooney Teton. I've been afraid since there are so many fakes.

Tag for Coach court bag in british tan. Can someone help me identify what the serial # means? I also have a black court bag and noticed they're quite different. Tan has an adjustable strap, leather is thinner, and bag seems to be wider. Is this for the later model? If so, I guess the older model without adjustable strap has better quality.

K1P-9870 =

K = the month of October (A through M, skipping I to reduce confusion)
1 = the year 2001
P = the plant code for Costa Rica
9870 = the style number for the Court bag

The above format only applies to bags mage in 1994 or later. Bags made before 1994 each have an individual serial number. Your bag pictured above was made in October 2001 in Costa Rica.

The court design changed around 1999. If you look at the piping around the front pocket under the flap, you can see a big difference. There shouldn't be much difference in the thickness of the leather. I find Costa Rica bags to be of great quality. I like them better than some earlier made in NYC bags. I'm surprised you feel differently.

Thanks for the info! Yes, my black one was made before 1999 and it seems better. The leather is shinier. The tan is more matte. I still like them both very much. The strap on the later model is so long though. I'm 5'2 so the original length is perfect for me.

Thank you Morgan Bellini for answering my question!

The Salearea Guides include all that information:

Did I miss any more action on this? Do you need to dunk? Does yours have an organizer pocket? The catalog says is does, but mine just has an open pocket on one side and a zip on the other. Details, details please!

That’s like Christmas!
This is all I got: just one zippered pocket. I don't think dunking is necessary but it never hurts.
