My forest green Crosby arrived today!! Aside from a little wrinkling she's in amazing condition. Very soft, well cared for leather with no scratches or wear at all. It has a structured flap similar to the Manor, do you guys think those wrinkles can be ironed out somehow? It feels like the stiffening material itself is creased. Regardless, this bag is incredible! Its everything I love about all of my favorite styles all wrapped up into one gorgeous bag.

And to anyone who has a springlock bag, how do you like the springlock?

It's been a very long wait but I finally found my vintage BIG RED!! :yahoo:Here she is! My Bancroft brief for $54 shipped! Unfortunately it's missing it's strap but I'll just borrow a strap from another bag. It has a few minor water stains but they don't bother me very much. Hopefully they disappear when I wash it.

Did I miss any more action on this? Do you need to dunk? Does yours have an organizer pocket? The catalog says is does, but mine just has an open pocket on one side and a zip on the other. Details, details please!

I posted this in another thread, but after spending nearly an hour in an outlet store nearby (I was one of the only customers that entire time and the SA was very patient and friendly with me) and purchasing just a couple small items, the SA brought out her entire collection of hangtags for me to sort through and take whatever I liked. I was dumbfounded. We had chatted throughout the visit and I told her that I rehab vintage bags, and asked idly at the checkout counter if they had any older leather hangtags... then she came back with the motherlode of hangtaggery. Nothing vintage that I could see, but acceptable substitutes. I was just stunned and did not want to seem greedy, so selected a few, but she literally had at least 250 all sorted nicely by color and seemed pleased to send some off to someone who appreciated them. So definitely give it a shot next time you're at an outlet store!

That’s like Christmas!

So how are we all doing on our wish lists 6 months later? I have checked off three: the Pool Blue Willis, British Tan Willis, and Whiskey Bleecker Shopper. I will admit though that many of the bags on my list don't tickle my fancy anymore because my preferences have changed. I've also learned of new bags that I didn't know existed at the time I wrote my first list. So here's my new list:

1. Burnt Orange Courier Pouch
2. Burgundy Courier Pouch
3. British Tan or Mahogany Pony Express
4. Plum Willis
5. Mahogany Willis
6. Gray Willis
7. British Tan Crosby
8. Green Manor
9. Houseof999's hubby to build me a storage and display system. ;)

Have your lists changed?
Lol I had to go back and see how I replied to this list! I loosely like a lot of what others listed. As did others, I don’t necessarily have an itemized list, but I would like to continue to add color. I did get a little cornflower blue Abbie and a Periwinkle Maggie. (Side note. I did pick up a non vintage pebbled tote in Sunflower Yellow and Legacy Flap in Citron. I am becoming more interested in unusual non vintage bags as I come across them. I do have a short HG list of those. ) I had wanted a Sheridan and a green bag, got the small drawstring Sheridan in dark green. The jury is still out on that one. I did get a somewhat distressed BT Plaza on impulse. The real highlight was Shoulder Bag Small aka Little Station Bag. For my Small Bag Collection!
I can’t believe I’m saying this, I might cave the next time I see a Sling in purple. Like just about everyone else in vintage land, would like a few of the bags offered in bright colors from the late 90s. And a Pony lol.

I think it's funny that despite my wish list I bought dozens of bags NOT on my list and only three that were on it. I agree with you and Houseof999, maybe just looking for color is the way to go.

And to anyone who has a springlock bag, how do you like the springlock?
I have a Chrystie (BT of course!). I think the springlock is cool-looking. I've gotten used to opening and closing it, but I admit I had to learn. It has grown on me.

ETA: The main drawback is that, unlike the turnlock, you really can't find replacement springlocks. Or if you do, they're ridiculously costly.

So how are we all doing on our wish lists 6 months later?
I don’t believe I ever responded 6 months ago, but I did write a list for myself! I got my Currant Gramercy Top Handle, Berkeley Saddle Bag, Lunch Box, and a burgundy bag (a made in NYC Pocket Purse). Here’s my current Coach wish list:
1. Vintage purple bag
2. Winnie
3. Madison Carlyle in Navy or Green
4. Courier in any color
