Thank you for sharing information about this book, I recently picked it up from the library and I am enjoying reading it. Our local library didn't have it in their collection but they got it from another library in the system.

Bonnie Cashin was a fascinating woman and her influence on fashion was far greater than I ever realized! For example, who knew that it was Bonnie that first popularized leather boots in women's fashions?!
Glad you're enjoying it! It is amazing what a trailblazer she was. I'd love to collect some of her sportswear pieces some day. And I love the gloves pictured in the book with the turnlocks on them!

My four year old granddaughter saw my black Court bag for the first time today and she gasped picked it up and said "You got a new bag? Oh it's so cute!":biggrin:
Good job, raise that little one right! Lol
ETA, I was really excited to see my twenty something co-worker bring a Regina bag into work one day. It started the whole conversation about how her and her sister look for vintage Coach at flea markets. Also, a woman who has sold vintage Coach at flea markets also told me how she has sold mostly smaller bags to the younger generation. The interest is there!

A NYC City bag, which has been described as here rarer ( I see them regularly in brown, black all kinds of condition). Not cheap, but seems to me like a good, uneventful rehab, if you are hot for an NYC bag. More opinions are welcome. I’m still fascinated by them, especially under 40 bucks! There is an online seller who often puts in listings for NYC bags that they are “disappearing at an alarming rate”. Granted, they are more common styles, but you can find decent NYC bags for under $100 bucks at any given time online.

I hate camel! It is too yellow for me.

Yes! It looks like a dirty yellow. Even mustard would be a better color. Idk, I just don't like it.

Yes, dirty. I like yellow when it is a clear yellow, not mixed with brown.

I  camel! Lol, good, more camel for me

Ha ha!! That's exactly what I say to myself too when someone on here says they don't like a style that I love.

I don't mind camel, I have a linen Bleecker flap bag with camel trim that I love to wear during the summer; it was a difficult rehab but it came out well - after 2 trips through the washer!

I've seen gloves with turnlocks. I think Coach made some about 10 years ago. Sometimes you can find them on ebay.

I was excited to see that the turnlock gloves were an original Cashin design! have a pair of 100% cashmere-lined, turnlock, black leather coach gloves that I love.

I could kick myself because I once gave a pair of 100% cashmere-lined, red-leather, triple turnlock gloves that I bought at the outlet for $50, as a present to my sister - and I should have also bought a pair for myself!

I have a bonnie cashin for sills coat and it's very well done! It closes with all these turnlocks. I highly recommend getting a piece when then pop up.

I got a stinky surprise Willis today. My first cigarette smoke challenge. I guess I've been lucky so far! I already dunked it, I didnt even want it to touch any surfaces in my house. It also had a white film all over it that thankfully scrubbed off in the bath. What a nasty bag.

Even more depressing, I think I accidentally bought a navy blue Willis. I initially thought it was gray or black and I made an impulsive offer on it as soon as I saw the Costa Rica creed. Then I looked closer at the pics and saw hints of navy blue. I hate navy blue. What do you guys think, is it blue?

Yep looks pretty blue on the inside.

Must be a bad day for rehabbing as I am struggling with one too. I thought it was in great condition and was going to be an easy rehab. Firstly someone had shortened the strap but I solved that easily by finding one in my rejects box. But then I realized the bag was also covered in shoe polish. After about an hour of working on it with acetone I gave it a bath and it's really sticky. Yuck. But I've always wanted a prairie bag...

Oh no...the dreaded shoe polish. I've heard it's very difficult to remove. Do you think the stickiness will go away?? It looks like it will be a lovely bag if you can work some of your magic on it.
