Yes and absolutely thank you for the Blackrock recommendation.!! I'm still working through old threads (goal is to get caught up with the rehab and entire vintage thread). Just upon my initial searches, I bought the Apple Conditioner, Leather CPR, a bottle of Lexol step 1 cleaner, & the Blackrock. I've also bookmarked threads mentioning Meltonian and Obenauf (but I'm still needing to do loads more reading about it). The light tan color bag I mentioned earlier was a preloved Massaccesi I purchased through the Facebook BST group (learned via handbag forum thread on here). There was very tiny discoloration when I bought it in the corners and it got worse in my possession. It was a soft leather (which my husband said he thinks wasn't sealed or pretreated or anything - we're really not 100% sure). Anyways, he knew I was upset about it and one day I was taking a shower and when I got out of the shower he was rubbing the Lexol stuff on the bag. I immediately freak out because it is not glove tanned Coach leather and I'm not sure if that was something the original atelier would have appreciated. It did discolor (well darken) the bag and we ended up just using CPR everywhere and the Blackrock as the last step. I'm not really sure what the point of the Apple, CRP, or Lexol is because I don't really notice a big difference on my leather products (& I wasn't blown away after application). But...whatever is in the Blackrock is magical and I can tell a pretty wonderful difference after that has been applied. It did darken the bag, but as a result, I actually like it much better now (more of a rust color than a tan) and I haven't noticed any transfer problems since we did that. I'm just really wanting to go back and read through all of the threads and learn more. I've always seen leather shoe shine and cleaning stuff (like in movies, etc), but I've never really heard about leather purse/wallet/etc cleaning and maintenance and I didn't really come from a family that would have likely had real nice leather stuff anyways so this is a whole new world to me.
I agree, Blackrocks is magical.

I was just wondering, did they make Station bags in the 80s and 90s, or just the 90s? The green one is from the 90s, based on the creed and it also came with the little booklet that Coach gave out as this was a nwt bag--the pamphlet was dated '92. But I need to look at my purple one closer--I am pretty sure I thought that was 80s for some reason.

Station Bags (style #5130, originally called "Shoulder Pouch Large") were made as early as 1983, but I doubt if Purple would have been available in the 1980s. They came in Burgundy....

I am trying to stay away from this one for a while, until I have more room on my bag shelf, lol, but can I have some opinions on the Court bag? I can't really tell what to compare it to in regard to size--is there a current bag that someone can say it is close to? I have looked at images online and am still not quite sure.

Just wondering in general who likes it, why? Who doesn't? why? Etc...thank you!

It's a beautiful, functional bag, but for me it felt a little too cramped. (I carry two pairs of glasses, a wallet, cell phone, and keys.) I prefer a less structured bag.

Side note: some Court bags have an adjustable strap, some older ones came with a non-adjustable strap.

This blog, which you may have seen already, has several pictures of a petite model carrying a Court bag.

Hello all! I'm new to the forum, and so excited to have discovered this community! I've recently fallen down the rabbit hole that is vintage Coach bags, and I've spent the past few days poring over this thread, the Rehab & Rescue one, and the Authenticate This thread which has already been incredibly helpful to me. Yesterday I received my first two vintage Coach bags--a black Station and a brown Court--which will be my guinea pigs as I try my hand at rehabbing. I like the Station a lot, but I LOVE the Court. The outside slip pocket, inner zip pocket, and wider width are all a big plus for me. That being said, I think I might end up loving the Willis style even more, and am already eager to get my hands on one.

So here are my essentials for Mon to Friday. The wallet is empty, but I will be moving into it today. I hope I can make the turnlock work.
ETA, the wallet measures (all in inches), 5 1/4 x 4, VB nylon tech pouch 4 x 6 1/2 , VB octopus pouch 4 x 6 1/2. Both pouches are chunked out in the middle to 1 1/2 to 2 inches ! Phone is 6 x3.

My phone is under the front flap. Back slip pocket is empty as is the inner zip. Side view shows full but not bursting. Factor in you key situation. I need to pare down my custodian style mess.

Alexa see my above quotes for a look at the Court
ETA, I just learned if you touch the upward arrow after Lake Effect said: it will take you to my original quote.

The Station bag used to be my favorite style but then I got a Court and now that one is my favorite style. (Until I get a Rambler's Legacy, then who knows.....). I feel I can fit more in my Court bags and my stuff distributes more evenly so I don't have to dig for things. The Station bag is tall and skinny so it's good for lunch date type days but probably not a daily carry, in my opinion. I didn't like that I had to remove my wallet and wristlet just to reach my keys at the bottom of the bag. I don't have that problem with my Court bags. Here are some reference pics for you with my BT Court and red Station:

This is very helpful comparing these two bags, because the Station does work really well for me (even though I normally do not go with tall bags and normally prefer east-west styles). And so I was concerned the Court might be a little too big. I have seen some of the mod pics and in some of the pics it looks large for me, and in others it doesn't.

All of my main items fit in the large compartment of the Station, and then I put my keys and pen/chapstick in the front pocket. Normally I would have expected the Station to be too narrow, but I think because these bags are so soft it fits a little more than expected. So since my items fit in the Station, and the Court is quite a bit deeper, that might answer my question.... and save me some money.

My other concern with the Court is that in some mod pics it looks like the bottom of the bag doesn't seem structured enough to stay flat--in some of the pics there is somewhat of a bulge at the bottom of the bag. Maybe that is more about the condition of the bag, though?
