I realize they're about a decade apart in age and Coach may have changed the way they produced this part of the bag. Other than a musty smell, this bag is in great shape for being about 40 years old. And the color is breathtaking! I was hoping to not have to dunk...but a dunk will do her well.

Yep they always have that, the cuts in the edges. How visible they are depends on how tightly folded under the leather is there. I had one that had come undone and I had to glue it back under.

Lovely red!

Yep, I got rid of both of them. I didn't like the tongue extending beyond the bottom of the bag and curling up when I sat the bag down.

They don't get worse. They are just part of the construction of it. Couriers wear really well in my experience.

I thought the tongue was a weird feature at first, the way it slides down beyond the bottom of the bag. It means it has to be hung up to be stored. The early tiny double sided one has a shorter tongue on each side that doesn't do that.

It's pretty spacious for a little bag! This is my second one only because it's hard to find color. I mostly collect reds but I sent have this style in red yet. Not sure I'm going to. It's nice to have a good variety [emoji6] I always get tempted to get the bag that works for me in every color and have a rainbow of that style.

i just did a search for one and there is a red one on eBay- but of course the leather zipper pull is missing.

I love it! My big Android phone fits in the front pocket for easy access. Inside is pretty spacious. Everything I carry fits inside easily with room to spare. It's hard not to get more colors of the bag that works good for you so I totally understand. [emoji16]
