There is a rivet missing holding the buckle on one side too. I was interested in this until I noticed that. I even had the seller send me a pic of the creed. That's why the strap is folded in that goofy way. I have accidentally bought 2 bags like this in the past and had to get them fixed. The shoe repair guys made a real mess of it too.

Good catch - I missed that!

I took mine to two different repair guys. The first put in a rivet that was too big. The next one was close enough. The first guy charged $3, the second guy only $1! We were on the road at the time. If I tried to get that done around here, it would be at a minimum $14.

Am I missing something? Shouldn't an alteration like riveting the straps be disclosed? The seller has taken pains to describe the bag in detail. Or is it in the listing and I missed it? Sorry , it's just a pet peeve of mine when a seller omits a significant detail.
Me too. She repeatedly tells buyers to examine the photos closely, but fails to mention the altered strap. It's like a little game of "what's wrong with this picture?" I suppose it's possible she doesn't realize the bag wasn't made like that, but I doubt it. She seems knowledgeable enough about other aspects of the bag.

i think I paid about $10. The guys added in some extra bit of leather because they claimed the leather was old and was stretched so the new rivet slipped out so they had to redo it. And then they stitched this extra piece in... I have to say it does look like a repair that will last but it also looks a bit crappy. I have still used both bags they did this too so I guess I'm not too annoyed overall.
