I bought a gorgeous pale green Regis that had the strap shortened. You couldn't tell from the pictures. The seller gave me a partial refund because she hadn't noticed. I decided to keep it but I have never worn it. The strap is the perfect length to use as a shoulder tote but the bag is really too small to wear that way and the only way you could get away with it as a handbag it to add extra holes in the strap. I am torn as to what to do with it.

You could add extra holes with a leather punch but any time a bag is altered, it reduces the value. The seller should have noticed and noted it in the listing. I own most of the Madisons but a few of them are really quite small.

Whateve, here is the suede Watermelon tote I told you about. This is a before photo. I've already started working on it and it's a beauty. Would love to see a photo of yours. I included a photo of the suede Slim tote too. :-)

Thanks, C. I think the seller had no clue as to how long the strap should have been which is why she was eager to reduce the price. I could buy a leather punch but I was concerned about adding more holes to an already hole-y strap. I have about 6 Madisons, a couple are duplicate designs in different colours. My favourite is the Copley, such a beautiful purse and a great size. I also have the Deauville, it is such a pretty purse.

Thank you! I remember when you got your organizer pouch. I had posted that catalog photo on the forum just a few days earlier. Then we had seen 2 of them so we knew a third one was coming! That's when you found yours! I had bought too much around then so I resisted, but I don't think I've seen one since. Did you ever post a comparison to the classic pouch?

That color name is so interesting. I had just assumed the color names were generic at the beginning like they were once we started seeing catalogs. I always assumed that color looked like that because it was black that had faded over time.

Did the suspender Musette cost a fortune? I don't think I've ever seen one. A suspender bag was sold recently for around $350. A pony express bag went for over $500.

The Suspender Musette didn't cost me anything because I swapped my Suspender bag for it. I really miss my Suspender bag but I definitely made out well on the trade. The person I swapped with owns the Black Coffee bag that was on the Sacs Mag site. I saw those recent sales and they are out of their minds. I paid $210.00 for the Knapsack from a wonderful lady who has taught me a lot about rehabbing. The original Musette (White) that I have was rehabbed by Del Hurst who has also been around for a long time. I then found a second Knapsack out on Tradesy in black so I bought that one too. It's not quite as nice as the one I got from Cinzia though. I named that one Lois after my mom. The white Musette is Maggie after my grandmother and the Organizer Pouch is Bette after my cousin. I don't normally name bags but those are extra special.

I do have a sort suspender bag in mocha. It's basically useless but I am crazy about it. It's a bag with attitude. I named it Lucille. :-)

Mine looks almost exactly like yours! The first picture, with flash, is closer to the what the color really looks like. I've never been able to get rid of that line on the back. Suede is so hard to rehab.

I've seen slim satchels compact in suede in black and some other colors but yours is only the second suede watermelon I've seen. I used to have a mahogany suede classic pouch but I was unhappy with my inability to rehab it so I sold it. I can't remember if I've ever seen another one.

That is so upsetting! I've bought several bags with shortened straps and I usually didn't notice until I unbuckled the strap to condition it. I wouldn't want to punch extra holes. I would look into getting a coordinating strap that can be clipped onto the rings; probably a short strap or chain to use as a handle would look best. Or you could get creative and buckle on something that would extend the original strap length. It would be a lot easier if it was a basic color like black, but maybe you could paint something to match or use a pale color that would blend.

Wow! Our Watermelon totes are identical, Whateve. I will get some photos of it when it's done. The area around the kisslock needs more work.

I decided to carry mine today! It holds everything! It doesn't look that big but it is a perfect size for me.

I'm carrying all my suede bags this month.

Awesome, Whateve! I plan to carry mine too when I finish it. I don't think I showed you this bag. It is another of my treasures and authenticated by Jed Winokur. It's not suede though. It is an early Cashin-Carry bag from 1964. In the second photo you can see the brass which has been a lot of work to clean. It looks lumpy because I have it stuffed. The bag measures 14" x 12.5" x 5" - so very large.

Oh my goodness! Where do you find such rare bags? Gorgeous!

I have been very lucky. Most of my bags come from eBay but some also come from Etsy. I happened to be on eBay one morning and the brown shopper showed up. I took a quick look and decided it was mine. :-) I ended up paying $228.47 + $6.35 shipping for the brown bag. The most I have spent for any bag is $295.00 for the Musette which I finally finished, thank goodness. If you have looked at the Musettes, you know that was a really good price. That bag was a lot of work. When I got the brown shopping bag, I showed it to a friend who sent photos of it up to the archive. It turns out that they do have one up in New York but I was told it is extremely rare. I will be glad when I finally have the brass finished on the Brown Shopper. There are eight double sided grommets to be cleaned. I am so glad you like it. :-)

Here is one of my favorite little bags because it has a surprise inside! I don't use it because it is too small but it makes me happy to look at. I even like the way the dye faded on the edges so it looks two-tone. The style is called shoulder purse and it is style #9385. I think it was made around 1986.
That is adorable, Whateve!.

I have a small one with an inside kisslock too but it does not have the divided pocket like yours. It makes me wonder how many different variations of a style they actually made.

This adorable clutch bag is a reissue of a Bonnie Cashin design. The original was called the patch pocket bag and it came out around 1969. For the reissue, in the late eighties, they made the style even more fun by adding a zippered pocket on the other side and making it two-tone. There is a black and white version too. I absolutely love this bag and it holds a lot more than it looks. The style number is 9004 and it is called the stroll tote. It is about 10 x 10 x 3 inches. The color was called peacock blue with coral.

That is gorgeous!! What beautiful colors.

Here's one more. This is from the Carriage classics collection from around 1992. This is the Chauncey bag, #9897. It is very small but it is pretty cute and a very nice shade of olive. I never rehabbed it. Actually I didn't rehab the stroll tote either. I found that one in almost perfect condition.
Love it! I have a Mulberry which is from the same collection. I haven't used it though as it doesn't hold enough to go out on the road.
