Salearea hires people to write the descriptions. There is always someone new working there and they aren't always well informed. I think it used to matter more to them that the titles and descriptions were exact; now I don't think they care.
Hi! It does really matter to us. We strive to be as accurate as possible in every listing and try not to ever let anything slip through the cracks. It is embarrassing and frustrating if something in our listing is ever less than completely accurate.
A while ago I messaged salearea correcting a listing for a "Made in United States" Coach bag that was listed as a 1970's bag. I received a thank you with the comment "I will make sure the new person responsible for the error reads our own guides"!
We really do sincerely appreciate any comments or corrections we receive. It helps us with training new writers. I think I may remember your email as I was the one who answered it. The writer who created those (inaccurate) listings actually does not work with us anymore.
I've helped them quite a few times. I've never gotten that comment!
I am so sorry if you received anything less than a kind reply! Julie and myself are the main two who answer emails and we both greatly appreciate the help we get from fellow handbag fanatics. Please accept my apologies if we were not thankful in our replies. We truly do appreciate the help. Sincerely :urock:
yeah, she is pretty on top of things ~if you contact her she will respond personally.
Then the bad crew member gets twenty of theseand has to copy the guides with a pen as homework..I will not talk in class..now its prob..I will not TWEET in class & they have to text that 100 times to the teacher...

Something like that ... LOL
The responses I've gotten are from the sales and communications director and Julie, the senior listing designer. They have writers and editors that are supposed to check the writers' work. It sounds like there are many employees. I think they have independent contractors that shop for them.
That is correct. Julie does most of the training of our writers. Currently we have 3 writers other than Julie and one of the newer ones is still learning (while we are cracking the whip on her HAHA). We carefully edit her listings but sometimes some details accidentally fall through the cracks. We work in a pretty relaxed environment and sometimes that leads to inadvertent errors. We are working on keeping a balance between having fun and being consistent.
Maybe distance had something to do with it. No competition from the other side of the world!
We sincerely appreciate any help we get. Especially from fellow TPF'ers. I have never actually even looked at where someone was located or if they were potentially "competition". To be honest, that would have never crossed my mind. If I, or Julie, was ever anything less than thankful for any tips I sincerely apologize. I can not stress enough how grateful we are to receive help from other members. Seriously. THANK YOU!!!
