Another question. I see a lot about the leather feel for different ages and locations. It’s always so interesting!

Does anyone have an opinion on a Made in US bag vs. a Made in Turkey?

I'm looking to add a Casino to my collection and there are two I like -- a US in BT and Turkey in Mahogany -- and I’m wondering which might be more of that buttery, chewy feel.

For instance, I have a pre-9927 Made in US Willis (Bottle Green) that is super stiff compared to one made in China that I can practically roll in half. And I love the green, but carrying the bag makes me nuts because I want it to be a little slouchy and stretchy.

Is it just a crapshoot?
I don't have much experience with Turkey but I'd probably trust US more. A Willis is usually going to have stiffer leather than some other styles. Leather softness can vary due to how it has been taken care of over the years. What year was your China Willis made? I've had wonderful leather from China around 2001.

When the green Willis was authenticated, Hyacinth said it was from 1993. So it’s early and honestly doesn’t seem as if it was used much. It’s in great shape for being 30 years old, but so damn stiff. I’m sure it will soften if I use it more, but I always feel I’m not dressed nicely enough to grab it.

The China-made black (blavy?) is from 04 and has been very, very well-loved or terribly beat up depending how you look at it. It just just puddles if you try to stand it up, the leather glows and the inside feels like velvet. I love that I can just throw it around.

Hello Ladies!
Can anyone tell me what is the correct strap for a Beaumont Satchel? I have seen it with two different styles, one similar to a Willis strap and one that is thinner with dog leash style claps. All the bags I've looked at seem to be made in 1998 in the US. Could Coach have offered two different style straps or is the Willis style strap a replacement? I did a search for more information and looked through the Reference Thread but wasn't able to see a catalog picture of the Beaumont.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me, and have a wonderful and thoughtful Memorial Day weekend!

Hi all! I have a coach purse that I recently thrifted and it's original color was ivory but it's turned yellow and has a shiny coating on it. I want to fix it but the dye isn't taking. Should I just take it to a professional? Any and all recommendations would be greatly appreciated

Hi! So I’m so confused by this bag! It looks like a stewardess but it doesn’t have feet! I’m 100% sure it’s authentic which is why I didn’t post this on the authentication thread, but can anyone tell me why there aren’t feet on it?
Thank you!!!

Because it's not a Stewardess.

We need measurements and a picture of the bag with the flap open showing the construction of the under-flap pocket. A view of one of the ends would help too.

My first guess would be a Ranch Bag 9852 but your photos don't show any of the details we need to identify it. We can't even see how the strap is attached.

This may be it but please include the needed photos and details ESPECIALLY the measurements. And just because it kind of looks like a different bag, don't assume that it is. You really should be asking in the "ID This Coach" thread.

Thank you so much! I used google image last night and it is a ranch bag ;) so cute! I didn’t even know this style existed. Yes haha, I did just assume it was a stewardess with no style number these bags sometimes confused me :/ I didn’t know there was an ID thred! I’ll definitely check it out! Thank you so much for replying to me.

Hi, trying to find out more about this bag i just obtained and when it was made. Any expertise appreciated. Does this date from the 70's? It's got a creed imprint, but no serial number (I think!). I believe the sequence was metal tag, cartouch imprint, "This is a Coach bag..." imprint, then "This is a Coach bag..." imprint with serial numbers. I found a similar bag's picture online called "Hasp Bag" which says 1973. Does anyone know the range of dates when this bag was made? Does it have a style number? Thanks!
