Thank you so much for replying  I will have to get a picture tomorrow but it’s the smaller version of the 9170. Thank you so much again.

The only close style I can find is the turnlock version called a Small Shoulder Bag, style 9530 from the early 1980s catalogs.

The catalog says that it's a "scaled down version of the classic shoulder bag" although that specific style 9170 didn't have a turnlock. I don't recall ever seeing a small non-turnlock version.

Here's a page from a 1981 catalog showing both:

By 1986 the name had been changed to Shoulder Bag With Turnlock, and it had disappeared by 1987.

I would choose to buy my HG vintage Coach bags too.
I was browsing the Rue La La luxury bag boutique last night ( has many high end brands, event ends in a day or two), honestly not thrilled of any of those. Edge paint is a big no no to me, then coating or heavy finishing on leather surface is a big no too. Also I don’t like huge Logo stands out like a sore thrumb, nor overly complicated designs. No way I will spend thousands on one of those bags, I will get a vintage Coach Saddlery in every color instead. Just my own personal preference.

I went to Saks & Gucci with @qwertie a while back & I must’ve talked smack about every designer bag I handled lol. The prices were so outrageous, that’s what got me. It’s highway robbery to charge $2000 for a bag made out of canvas

There’s a small version of the classic shoulder bag that exists with no turn lock on the front & a slip pocket on the inside. Of the handful I’ve seen, they’ve all been pre-creed with the metal tab inside. I used to want one & a few people on the forum own them. The style number & name are a mystery to me though :shrugs:

So out of curiosity with the discussion of Chanel:

If you could comfortably splurge on designer bags, would you opt out & instead buy everything rare on your vintage coach wish-lists instead? Even with the possibility of those bags dropping in value in the future?

I have a cousin who only buys high end designer bags. When I visit her & she shares her “latest editions”, they just don’t excite me the same way vintage coach does.

I think it’s a combination of finding rare bags, the rehab transformations & connecting with other Coachies that keeps my bag collecting going. If vintage coach wasn’t a thing, Id probably only have a few bags & not really think much of them.

Rare coloured Courier > Chanel any day!
I'd buy the sage green kisslock Shoulder Purse or sage Ruffout Classic Pouch and have my trifecta of a harvest gold (saddle) Shopping Bag tote, burnt orange (rust) Saddle Bag and avocado greed (sage)
Seriously though, there is plenty of well-made vintage and not-yet vintage Couch out there that suits me/my lifestyle just fine.

Thanks Hyacinth, I really appreciate it. It’s this bag here.

That’s the one I’m referring too. Thank you so much.

There's a poor-quality image uploaded to the Reference thread of a Classic Pouch Ruff-out and a Mini Pouch Ruff-out. I can't feel info for a Mini Pouch may be out there ...

I have the 1976 booklet and is not there. I found a bad scan from the USPTO website and it's from the 1974 booklet. I was wondering if anyone here has uploaded it. I'll scan the 1976 one that I have a post it here with the inserts and bag list for reference.

Hi everyone! Can someone please tell me what colors the Coach Court 9807 Bags came in? I recently purchased one from Poshmark. I think it’s cream colored. it needs a bit of love and restoration. However, from what I have read, and seen on here. the bone and putty colors are all I am finding any mention of. I don’t want to restore it with an incorrect shoe cream. I have posted pictures to help with the color associated with the bag I purchased. I really wanna add something ruff-out to my collection! I love how fuzzy it looks .
