I really like this guy’s Instagram & TikTok postings, he cut a $1200 Chanel clutch in another post, to see how it was made and the grade of leather ( the leather wasn’t good with that Chanel ). It is tough to watch him destroy a perfect station bag to analysis it, but I am pleased he basically gave the vintage Coach his thumbs up in the end.
Also he analyzed a newer Coach tote too.

Thank you for sharing. I watched a few of his videos and he said his dissections bothered some luxury police and got him banned of Insta at one point. I couldn’t imagine why!? Lol! He is stating what we already know though, you pay premium for luxury not for the products but the status the goods bring. You essentially pay for the experience and that’s okay too.

I'll admit to never having seen this guy and his videos so I don't know what he does with the items after he destroys them. (If he reconstructs them so they're back to (nearly) original condition, I'm not as averse but even then, they aren't as "quality" as they originally were.)

But I have a problem with what he's doing. It's essentially thumbing his nose at those who care about the environment and landfills and it stinks of elitism with the implication that he can afford to destroy luxury items while other people don't know where they're next meal is coming from.

And if I'm all wet as to his motives, please correct me because I hope that's the case.

I just clicked on LunaSilvers posts and watch some of his videos. He mentioned that he is deconstructing the products to see how much it actually costs to make the goods and leave it to your judgment if that is worth your money.

Not sure what he does with his other deconstructions but the one LV bag he bought for $1700, he reconstructed the other side of premium leather but kept the other half original. He also has a video saying he cannot keep on buying luxury just to dissect them so he asked if anybody would be willing to send their items they don’t love anymore, be mentioned in the video and that they will receive a “gift” of somewhat equal value to the estimated cost to make the item sent. I’m guessing he has a leather goods line.
