I bought a photo prop today! It proves my intent since I'm always saying I'll  try to take a photo. At about 2:00 in the afternoon the sun shines just right on my patio and once I gather up some sugar maple leaves I should be able to get a beautiful fall shot tomorrow.

I just saw a white pumpkin while I was out; I think I will use your idea of a prop! Credit to you!

Yeah, but just think....in that pile there are probably bags that you cannot find today anymore. So many styles have just disappeared from the after market :crybaby:
It’s s interesting to hear you say that. I feel like since the change in the vintage market, I see more of some styles that I rarely saw. I see more small Couriers, Pully bags and the double sided tab (Courier style) tote and the original Dinky with the eyelet attachment.
And of course, everyone seems to be dumping black Stewies. If you’re patient, you can find them on a $65 BIN. Just what I see. I am mostly on eBay.
Can’t wonder if will be like the stock market, there will be a “correction” and people will want to let go of their bags. There is an online seller who has been putting in listings for years something to the effect of “NYC bags are disappearing at an alarming rate” and just insert my eye roll here; I disagree. They are being collected or used. Are some styles hard to find? Absolutely. Are prices being raised? Yes. The owners will either die or downsize and we will see some bags again somewhere …
And yes I realize this is easy for me to write that I have more than enough vintage cuties for my personal use and collection. I have a HG list, but looking for them is a fun little scavenger hunt with no real goal. Other than a getting a little side hustle going.

Does anyone have any recommendations for sellers of authentic vintage coach bags? I apologize if this has been covered before or violates any rules. I would love to buy a vintage coach bag, but was fearful of buying a fake one. I was burned once on Poshmark and foolishly gave away the one authentic one I found in a thrift store to a friend.

I feel the same that more styles are showing up. Probably because of the price surge, people are more willing to let go. It is not the same with colors though, they seemed to have disappeared. I used to be able to see more yellows and oranges and blues(not blavy). You have to pay premium for those now like that Winnie listed for $2K. Black and brown Winnies are currently at 600-800 so it must be it being periwinkle that made it special.

Boy, I miss the days where I pay $30 for a bag! I blame instagram.

Not sure if recommending a seller is allowed since that probably is a form of promotion. You can look on ebay and ask for authentication here before buying. Here is the link.

I agree with you that certain styles are more readily available, such as Willis (seems to be one hot item atm) Dinkys and some others. However, many styles are simply not available and if they are, their price is way more than I'm willing to spend. In addition, as Yrelle noted, the colors of the rarer bags are limited to the blacks and browns. Often on bags in the 50-75+ price range the hangtag is missing and those can get quite pricey for the older bags. Also, larger bags seem to be more available than the smaller, with bags made in China more freely available. My sweet spot size-wise seems to be below 11x11 which severely limits my choices.
LOL and yeah those Winnies really are out of my reach

Every once in a while I might get a hankering after one bag or another, but actually, I'm quite happy with the bags I own and need to give some TLC to, just after my winter garden is in

Where are all these small couriers you speak of? I'm in the market for one in good condition.

One thing to keep in mind, an experienced seller of an authentic Coach bag will include a clear pic of the Creed in the listing, along with size of the bag and enough pics to show the overall condition. They will generally not hesitate to respond to questions, as they have nothing to hide.
If you ask a question of an online seller, and get any kind of attitude, hard sell or vagueness, move along. A seller not familiar with the counterfeit industry for Coach might not understand the importance showing a Creed pic. Do not rely on any explanations from sellers. Wait for a pic of the Creed.
