Agreed! I wonder if any else who was caught in the abrupt change to mostly wfh found their choice and size of bags shifted. I found 8” x 11” to be my minimum pre-2020! Now I am moving to something smaller for daily use, aka my old weekend choices. I am ready to say good-by to some of my larger bags!
I am surprised at how rough the condition is for some of those black, neutral bags for $50, 60, 70. At least if one has a little rehab experience then you can gauge how well they will respond!
Oh can you stage a BOTD pic in your garden??
I will do it once everything is up and the summer garden is completely cleaned off (the peppers and some tomatoes are still bearing), so, right now it looks a mess.

I have a yellow Duffle Sac that I adore. I’m normally a small bag kinda girl as evidenced by my posts in the comparison thread. So I was pretty surprised that I like the Duffle Sac as much as I do.

I found the demographics interesting. It’s probably also in part that younger people use social media more and are now exposed to the beauty of vintage coach. That was how I got hooked on rehabbing, saw a post and thought I would try my hands on it, never knowing what I was getting myself into. The rest is history! My first bag was a station bag I got for $15 on Poshmark. Now, you’d be lucky to get hangtag for that price.
I’m an older gal here. I started out just wanting to do a deep conditioning of a few favorites I had, the large Shopper 9090 and a Patti. When a really sad Classic Hobo and C Clutch cleaned up amazingly, and I found an Oliver in almost like new condition for $26, it was like  oh I can have all the Coach bags I couldn’t afford in the 90s. Just having a good time with it now. I would love to check out some Dooney too.
I’m glad the classic aesthetic is appreciated. I remember emailing the seller of my blue Janice to let her know I was pleased. She responded that when she saw my message she was concerned that I might be unhappy that the bag was too plain!

That is the beauty of the classics I guess. I dress colorful specially in the summer so my plain bags compliment well. Also, it is easier to spruce up a plain bag by adding charms and playful straps. Oh, and sorry if I gave the impression that I am young. Lol! I’m probably in the mean with vintage Coach users demographics. I would like to have a bag older than me in my collection but right now they are out of my price range.

Dug out my bt crosby and bought a kmm leather strap for it to use crossbody. It doesn't look the way I had planned and seems a bit meh. Does anyone have a strap that they recommend to go crossbody with crosby? I have a fun yellow tassel strap that I used with my convertible duffle but that just has holes and would need some kind of adapter.

Bag prices are crazy right now

Jealous! I would like a Crosby but you’re right, prices are crazy right now so probably not any time soon.

I found this a good combo.

Goodwillfinds website went live yesterday- it’s a non auction platform for goodwill similar to thred up and Poshmark. Everything is BIN, but unlike Posh there are no individual sellers and no options for offers. Price listed is the only price.

Apparently I was already late to the party because almost a third of the Coach bag listings had sold already- in ONE DAY!!! There were some vintage, mostly black and brown, but a few good ones in there and they obviously went fast.

The site was glitchy, clearly not a top dollar site, and one would need to search frequently to snag the good stuff- similar to searching in the stores. All in all, I think it will be fun to shop, but probably not competitive with Posh, eBay or thred up because Goodwill is usually the last stop for items people want to get rid of. If it can’t be sold on other platforms, it gets donated.

This explains why the stores have been so painfully empty lately

Thanks for sharing! I took a peek and you’re right not much vintage coach left.

I have being on a bus tour in U.S. for 10 days now. Each city I went, always used the free time to check out some thrift stores. Now I am wondering how come @Jacynthe always got amazing finds of vintage Coach bags, but I am so unlucky. So far only saw a 1999 China made black Helen’s Legacy in Albuquerque for $95, and a NYC creed black Basic bag for $70 in Durango, I didn’t buy the Helen, it was gone 30 mins later when I went back. The Basic bag is a bit more than I want to pay, but still bought it as souvenir, at least there are anchors on the dog leash clasps. These are all thrift store pricing. Price has definitely gone up.

I am a thrift store junkie and it is becoming very difficult to find vintage Coach in the stores. Forget Goodwill, they stopped putting them out on the shelves long ago. Only online. I have found better luck with small church thrifts, other charity thrifts or antique malls. But they still remain hard to find in person.
