It happened to me. The seller claimed it was sold earlier on another site. What really happened is that after she accepted my offer, about 12 hours later if I remember correctly, someone made a better offer on another site. The reason I found out was that the other buyer was a tpfer.

In the case of my last purchase I know for a fact that the seller was not selling on any other websites. Still she was contacted by multiple people offering her more money for the bag that was already sold to ME. Therefore they were trying to basically steal from me. That’s cheating! That’s unethical.

Does anyone have a catalog image of the geometric roll bag 9045? Did they make both tangerine and a yellow color of that bag? I have both the orange and yellow colors in the 9043 bag but someone told me they didn’t think 9045 came in both colors. Just curious as I can’t locate a catalog page. I know 9045 came in black, red, yellow(and/or orange?), and dark brown. Thanks!

I can buy off US-only sites (Canadian here) but I don’t even bother because the sniping problem is really bad now. There’s no point buying anything rare for a cheap price because chances are, someone will let the seller know that their item is worth more & the seller will cancel. Usually when the bag gets relisted, it’s always with the correct style name & number too.

I agree. I would never buy anything in the future from a seller who confirmed that was the reason my purchase was cancelled. I don’t think it’s ethical. Usually I feel good when I see purchase confirmed. So far, I’ve had nothing cancelled after purchasing. The market is getting really crazy with pricing. Kind of like housing market where I live. People are paying 100k or more over asking price to get a house contract. Different situation but similar cause.
Yes! Markets in every platform are crazy. Something has got to give and the end result is not going to be nice. At all.

I deleted two listings due to "sellers remorse" but relisted. Sometimes it's just emotions. It's hard to let go of a bag even when you know it's best to do so.

Totally! One of the reasons why we have a homelessness problem in this country. If Kardashians decide one day that they really like Vintage Coach bags we all are going to be priced out.
I thought that too! What if a Kardashian gets wind of how awesome vintage Coach bags are? That would be so awful!! May they always covet their Balenciaga's!

Older Balenciagas don't sell for that much, although recently they seem more expensive. I got one at a thrift for $40, the rest on ebay: two for around $200, and the other two under $400. They are a little cheaper when they are on auctions.

They are poorly constructed, too much foo foo (zippers and dangly crap) and highly inflated. I never understood the appeal.

I was referring to the listings like, for example, a Winnie being sold as “vintage coach bag” for under $100 only to be re-listed again a day or two later as “vintage coach Winnie 9023” for $500+. Ive seen it happen multiple times with many of the “rarer” bag styles. Vintage coach has become incredibly cutthroat sadly! :shrugs:

Crazy crazy times. Ugh.

It is becoming rarer to find generic titles. So many sellers know exactly what they are selling.
