None of my family or friends do Willis so that is a style I can’t gift to them. It is my favorite style. (My first introduction to Coach was seeing a coworkers navy Willis bag around 1993 and it was love at first sight!) So now I have Willis duplicates for some colors because I upgraded to NWT or better-conditioned ones.

These days I carry mostly two styles, a Willis or a Rogue 30 depending on how much I’m hauling. For quick errands I love the small flap bag or a Watson. Tonight I did take one of my legacy bags to dinner, a Candace in a leather/signature combo and one of the few signature bags I own. It’s a great size and very versatile. When these cane out I bought every color in leather!
I used to have two Candaces, both the haircalf versions, in aquamarine and ultraviolet. They were gorgeous but ultimately they were too big for me so I let them go. Legacy colors were the best.

Curious question: How would you rank the vintage coach leather from the various countries and why?….US….Costa Rica….Mexico…Hungary….Dominican Republic….China. I only have ones from the first three and find that my fave is Costa Rican (so buttery silky soft yet a little thinner), followed by Mexican (buttery soft but thick)…wonder if diff countries use different animals or tanning process somehow to account for the differences….

I am of no help here as I only own US and Costa Rican made bags - not on purpose, just worked out that way. But I do want to note that even US made bags vary depending on what period it was made. For example I have bags that were NYC made with glued on serial, some made in the 80s, and 90s. Personally I love the ones from the 80s best because the leather is just so thick! The bags made in the late 90s especially, I find that the leather isn’t as thick and scrumptious as the earlier ones.

Every single one of my forever collection is US made and I see differences in the leather despite that. & the ones I want to sell include Costa Rica/China and I don’t notice a difference. So ymmv imo

I love them all! In order of preference, difficult to say, I have favourites from all over. DR Rambler Legacy gorgeous leather!!! Doctor satchel US (NYC) silky soft leather I am unable to stop touching, 9966 Legacy zip Mexico...again beautiful soft leather. Murphy Hungary and Station Turkey (hope I am not mistaken origin of last 2). Costa Rica Rambler Legacy I love and with my DR one, is probably most carried. Also US one! Unable to rank them!

I think it depends on the bag. The nicest bag I've ever felt was made in the US. My RL was made in the US. The leather is the best, thick, soft and silky. I've had China bags that were very good, but they were made before 2003. I think sometimes they sourced the leather from nearby. With the US creeds, you don't know exactly where the bag was made.

I think it’s cute but not practical for me.

Coach is ticking me off anyway. I wanted one of these green kisslock totes and my local Coach SA, who’s watching out for the spring collection for me, thought they had one for sale. It’s the first bag from the spring collection she found in their computer system, not online yet. Style number had the wrong description in their database. She placed the order for me and then I noticed the bag in the email photo was not the kisslock. I went ahead and kept the order because I wanted one of these bags (Plain tote in tan in photo only mine is green).

Turns out this kisslock bag will only be available in army green and light purple (lilac color) and the single kisslock only in aqua color. Coach does this all the time. They get us excited about the colors and styles on the runway and then either sell in other markets, produce very limited quantities that sell out in minutes, or don’t offer the best colors. I would say it might be supply issues from pandemic except they do it all the time.

My Coach SA sent me a little present for the snafu, a personalized hangtag .

FYI from what I've heard, they did make the Kisslock Cashin Totes (albeit not in that exact shade of green) as well as several versions of the Cashin 20 and Cashin 22 totes, but they're all International Exclusives. There were none ordered for the USA stores... which is bonkers to think about!

I wanted to buy several of these, but there are zero in stock in North America. It's really a shame.

Isn't it odd there is a Central Park bag that isn't available in NYC?

I absolutely love the purple double kisslock. They are idiots to not sell that here.

This is for @americandreaming mostly. I think others may be interested in a duffle sac / Helen's Legacy / Maggie size comparison also. The duffle sac here is in Putty (I think), the Helen's Legacy is in Taupe (!!) and the Maggie is my new one in red.

I put the Putty next to the Taupe 'cause I think that the difference between those two colors was a question somewhere on here earlier in the week. The duffle sac was made in Taupe for one year (1995) and I endlessly search for that bag. The Helen's Legacy and Maggie are wonderful but my whole life does not fit in them.
Coming back to this to say I'm considering a Helen's Legacy/Maggie but can't decide which one! Haha xx

It happened to me. The seller claimed it was sold earlier on another site. What really happened is that after she accepted my offer, about 12 hours later if I remember correctly, someone made a better offer on another site. The reason I found out was that the other buyer was a tpfer.

This happened to me just recently. I bought a currant Chunky case on Poshmark poshmark. Then saw it listed for twice as much on Mercari. I contacted the seller and politely requested that she remove the Mercari listing since I had already purchased it on. Practically begged her not to cancel because it matches my bag. But she left the listing up for 5 hours until she got a better offer. I contacted her again but she never offered it to me to buy it at the higher price. I saw it sold on mercari and she still didn't cancel my order. Next day she said she'll be canceling my order because she didn't do her research. Fine you realize you priced it low but you couldn't have the decency to sell to me asking if I would pay the new asking price? She said she was sorry and will do right next time and that she cares about her customer etc Bullsh*t. Anyway, I finally let her know she's an awful seller and blocked her.

I have one in my collection and though I won't get rid of it, I'm definitely not interested in getting another one! On the hand, I do want to get rid of my City Willis. I'm too short to wear that one comfortably!
I LOVE the City Willis. I have a dark brown one and I would love to find another at a reasonable price. I love how I can arrange my things in an easy-to-get-at row inside.

I was referring to the listings like, for example, a Winnie being sold as “vintage coach bag” for under $100 only to be re-listed again a day or two later as “vintage coach Winnie 9023” for $500+. Ive seen it happen multiple times with many of the “rarer” bag styles. Vintage coach has become incredibly cutthroat sadly! :shrugs:

Agreed. Plus there are some users volunteerily contacting the sellers with such info. There were a set couriers listed and ppl were going bonkers messaging the seller in bundles some offering more money, some advising to list each for $$$. Shopping vintage coach really is cut throat right now as you said. You can't rest easy till you have checked for cross listings on multiple sites and it has shipped. I'm so glad I started early and were able to get so many before the market went nuts.

After I won the auction for my Shopping Bag style tote, I was anxious to have it shipped. I know all it would take would be for someone to see what I paid for it and offer more money and boom, it might have slipped through my fingers. It never, ever occurred to me to look at other platforms. And I'm glad I didn't because I would have been a basket case! I can't believe how horrible it has become.
I started in not too long after you did, iirc. I have been thinking over the last few months that I was lucky to start when I did too.
I'd love to find a beater Sidepark Large to see if it's a good match for me. Fortunately, I can wait for something on the cheaper side.

I saw that courier set insanity lol! All I could think was, “damn it ladies, pull yourselves together, they’re just bags!”. I feel the same! Im really grateful to have the bags I do. Im sorry you didn’t get your currant chunky case, I truly hope you find another one for a reasonable price:hbeat:. My red Winnie seller delayed shipping it by 2 days because of a blizzard. I couldn’t focus on anything else for those 2 agonizing days! Then I couldn’t sleep while it was in transit because I was worried it would get lost. Then I almost had a mini heart attack when it showed up at my doorstep in a crushed box! Basically, the red Winnie is probably one of the best-worst buying experiences of my life. 4/10, kinda don’t wanna repeat lol
