Roro: Love the nubuc bags! The elderberry one is smashing!
Sorry if I am not doing this right. I spent most of my life computer free and I don't do social media at all so this is quite new.
I am wondering about my newest vintage Coach acquisition and have a question about seams. This is my B-U-T-Ful Logan in Camel. I haven't dunked it yet, but I usually do before using. It was authenticated by the Coach forum here, so I know it is real, but what do I do about those unsightly seams? Some say to dye them, but I was considering letting them be as a sign of a vintage bag. Any thoughts about this would be so helpful.

Those seams are common in vintage coach bags. It’s where the leather was shaved down before sewing the bag together. I would leave it be

The shaved seams are a wonderful testament to the craftspeople who sewed these bags by hand, one by one, imo.

Awesome answers! Thank you so much. The only vintage Coach I own are the Chalk colored Devon I bought recently, and a small black Bellini from my clubbing days! The Devon has some sort of white paint all over the outside. I am trying to get it back to its original color but two baths and a scrubbing didn't dent the paint. I am trying leather paint remover very carefully and it seems to be removing it but what a mess! The underlying color looks like a putty-grey or dark ivory and lovely! Why do people do this to bags? If anyone has any thoughts about the process to remove paint I would be so happy to hear it! And where to get original dye colors if possible.
Cheers!

I have not mustered the ambition to dye yet. Many have however. Why don't you post this post (just quote this post) over on the Rehab thread. While you wait for a response, search the thread using the search feature and *dye* and you will see what people have done.

If it’s the coating on a bone Devon from Coach, it’s miserable to remove evenly. If it’s aftermarket paint, you’ll have better luck. I’ll tag you in the rehab forum so you get a notification at the top of the screen. Then you can reply within the rehab group.

What did you use to get them so clean?? I tried Mother’s mag on the putty one but only had one go. I also didn’t try leaving it on or any other technique as I was moving and couldn’t dive into potentially time consuming tasks. I think that one pass helped but certainly not as shiny as your metal tag ones

I just did the standard rehab on the bag: dunk with dawn then conditioning. I've seen hardware come out of the dunk cleaner than when it went in and wonder if that happened here. I'm not certain but I don't think that @Busykitty dunked the duffle before I bought it.

Oh you know, the typical ones of finding a partner, buying a home, having kids etc. I don’t care for kids but everything else scares me lol! I feel like Im on a deadline sometimes & Im seriously lagging behind. On the bright side, at least I know Im not alone thanks to the internet . I hope the older I get, the more ok Ill be with the unknown .

Milestones are way overrated. I'm not one for rules I guess. I'm 43, three kids, never married. My partner and I have been together about 15 years. I honestly never felt the need for a big wedding/dress/all that other fancy stuff other little girls might have dreamed about. People ask us all the time if we're ever going to get married. It's semi-annoying.

And wow @Narnanz I would love to live with my mom again! I would have never thought that as a teenager lol. Your life seems so dreamy to me with all your beautiful shots of your bags on your bicycle rides...I live vicariously through your photos  I love my kids, but I would love to have a week or so to myself to bike around NZ.

I dunked it. I brushed those rivets with vinegar before the dunk and polished them afterwards. There was so much build up on them, I wish I would’ve photographed them predunk. I kept it upright when drying and was careful with the cartouche. It was a pretty dirty bag tho. Super floppy when wet, not like the newer vintage leather. I had to carefully prop it up on all sides but also allow for enough airflow to let it dry. It was a slow process. Haha the stories that bag could share about its life
