I just finished looking and don't believe there were ever any leather Legacy Spectators, just "Spectator" followed by the standard style name. The Spectator Court Bag is the only one of the ones Whateve listed that I was able to find in the Wayback Machine, the pics I have of the other 3 are just from listing photos. The Court Bag was apparently from Spring 2001 and the other 3 from late winter or very early Spring, what used to be considered "resort", 2002 but made in early Winter 2001, with L and M month codes.

I had a court and city spectator, both had M 2001 month codes.

Thank you, that confirms that my new bag is a Spectator Compact Pouch from 2001-02! The code on my bag is also M 2001.

1989 was a banner year for Coach. The Spectator line was introduced, as well as the Continental Series: all-time great styles like the Plaza and Court Bags.

Me again. One more question-- I was able to find the names of all the bags in the Spectator line by searching catalogs, but have been having a hard time with the Continental pieces. So far I've found the Plaza, Court, and (I think?? please correct me if I'm wrong) the Regency Brief, but from what I can tell, there were four bags in this series. What am I missing!

Thank you again, by the way--this has all be super helpful. I love learning about this, and learning about how to find more resources myself. Been diving into vintage catalog pictures on pintrest, haha.

(And it was a pleasant surprise to discover that the Court was a 1989 release, since I've already got one!)

There were two-Plaza Bags, #9860 Plaza Bag and #9865 Plaza Bag Large, in addition to the Court Bag and Regency Brief.

Thats what I want...a Large Plaza....but man they are expensive. ...and as I don't bid only BIN...I miss out on really great bags.
I really need to get the confidence to bid.
I hate bid listings and 99.9% of the time I ignore them regardless of how awesome the item is. I've been sniped in the last half a second and lost by a quarter too many times. I just don't bother anymore. What is interesting now is the seemingly new (to me anyway) option to make an offer on an auction that is not a BIN. I don't know if I am supposed to offer over the starting bid price or under it.

My date for the Court Spectator is based only on the date I noted for the Wayback page when I saved the pic, the ones I just found on Google were all from November or December 2001. So that's probably the correct time period and the Wayback was either a very early release or just a mistake in the date.

What do you offer that doesnt make you look stupid? Just what you are willing to pay? ..or a certain percentage off.
I keep on wondering if I should ask them to re calculate postage to NZ....sometimes wanting to buy something for NZ$34 but the postage is over $100...how did they get to that amount. Is it the calculator they use?
I know @houseof999 helped me out last week with postage but I always wonder how its done.

If they are using the global shipping program, what you are seeing is a combination of the postage the seller charges plus what the program is charging. The seller doesn't have any control over what the program charges. If you want to see how much the seller is charging when they use the program, I believe you could change the delivery address to the US with the zipcode 41025.

If they do the international shipping themselves, then they might be able to give you an exact quote for shipping and adjust the listing for you.

As far as what you offer, every seller is different in what offends them. Once a seller had a purse priced at $20. I offered $15. She came back at $18. I understand that is a 10% discount but it is only $2. If the purse was $100, a 10% discount is more significant. Other times I've offered 75 or 80 % of the asking price and it gets accepted. I don't think I've ever asked for a discount less than 25%. Some sellers might be offended with anything more than 20%. I think some sellers who have the best offer option activated really don't understand it as they refuse all offers, no matter how good.

When there is an auction with best offer, who knows if they are expecting you to offer more than the start price of the auction. Probably.

thank you @whateve ...now I understand and might offer next time I see a bag I like. Might be a while though....have to save my pennies. Have 3 bags stuck at the Auckland Airport waiting to see if they will let them thru. Postage is considered essential so I might get them via the courier
