I've seen some auctions with Best Offer enabled that have sold to a Best Offer for the starting bid amount. It made me kick myself for not making an offer.
This purple Abbie was listed BIN $ 29 or best offer. I offered $20 and seller accepted it. The defects include mild smoke smell, wrinkles in the front, and the front pocket left side is a bit higher than the right side, but I am ok with that. I was able to get rid of the smoke ordour completely through rehab.

Well worth it! I’m still on the lookout for a purple small bag, reasonably priced.

What is interesting now is the seemingly new (to me anyway) option to make an offer on an auction that is not a BIN. I don't know if I am supposed to offer over the starting bid price or under it.
I’ve actually had people accept both, under and over (but more often over). I think it depends on the condition of the bag, how much I want it, how long it’s been listed for/whether it’s been relisted multiple times with no one bidding, what I decide to offer. I don’t worry too much about the seller getting annoyed (is that just me? I feel like they should know it’s part of what goes into selling on ebay, plus they can just decline the offer anyway...), and go with what I am willing to pay for a bag but always knowing there’s a chance I won’t get it.

Nice job! I’ve always avoided bags listed with smoke smell but seeing you guys have success with getting rid of it makes me more willing to try it now! Still looking for that ever elusive purple bag to add to my collection... hehe

This is pretty much the same thing that I do. Most of the time I get counter offers, but generally my first offer is my highest price already so I don't accept a huge amount of counters. Just depends on all of the things you mentioned.

Here’s the Madison Carnegie Clutch I got for $35 for my mom! I was going to keep it if she didn’t like it, but she likes it:P I probably wouldn’t use it anyway - I like the look of it without the strap, but it’s a bit too big for me as just a clutch. It was super clean and only needed conditioning.

It’s the same color brown as my Spence and I get to keep the hang tag (my Spence was missing a tag).

I was wondering if anyone might tell me when the Lexington and the Metropolitan briefcases were first introduced? And possibly how long they ran for? I found catalog excerpts with their descriptions, but couldn't find anything date-related. Thank you!

Gorgeous color to go with a pretty little bag.

I am about to join you, my bag ban starts April 1 st. Everything is pointing to that direction. Low value of Canadian dollar when buying in US$, uncertainty of economy, possible Covid 19 contamination during shipping process, etc.
I just missed out on a navy Logan, someone got it for $68 something. Not sure I am glad or regret that I didn't put in a higher bid.

The catalog page I have for Lexington is 1996-1997. They were still making them in 2002. The catalog page I have for Metropolitan is dated Holiday 1991. The turnlock style changed on the Metropolitan in 1996. They were still making them in 2000.

Thank you, whateve! I have seen a few Metropolitan's that had 2000 creeds (if authentic) and I was wondering about the turnlock style. Sometimes I'll find a bag and everything looks right except a handle or turnlock, and turns out it IS authentic just post-style change. Very interesting. Also very complicated.
