Thanks for digging up the catalog photo, Lake Effect! And thanks for sharing your thoughts on the magnetic closure. I think I’ll take a pass on this for now, and your input definitely made that decision easier! With all the uncertainty going on I really should be more careful with my spending... unless of course if I ever come across a reasonably priced red pocket purse :) thanks again.

I've noticed the same thing with my Garcia leather 12654 Legacy Shoulder Flap, but I just jiggle it around a bit until the mag snap catches. I love that style and leather so much that I don't mind a little fiddling.

It's those blasted breakaway zippers like the one on my Poppy Tartan Book Tote 14367 that really drive me nuts!

Also a bit of a random question, but would any of you lovely vintage lovers be able to give me the names of some bags released in 1989? It's for a personal project relating to that year, and I'd love to try to find a bag or two.

I know it's hard to tell exactly when a particular bag was made before 1994 so I'm not picky about the actual bag being made in that year (though it would be nice!), but the release of a style would be good enough for me. I just need to know what styles to keep an eye out for in my searches.

1989 was a banner year for Coach. The Spectator line was introduced, as well as the Continental Series: all-time great styles like the Plaza and Court Bags.
