I was thinking that too. Who in their right mind would buy one at those prices? No offense to any posters here that would or did. I'd actually like too feel one to see how a Coach rehab feels compared to mine.
The same people who would never go to a thrift store and think used bags are icky. They must think that, having been handled by Coach, it magically turns them into new bags.

Also why some resellers think they can charge an arm and a leg. They dont look or feel any better than how we restore bags.

And there are just people who just have really deep pockets. And I imagine Coach does not refurbish a great quantity of them. And there is marketing value in creating the air of demand when the website says “sold out”.
Lol I am sort of chucking in that I am thrifting, buying, refurbishing Coach I could not afford in the 90s. Maybe some of the market for the refurbished bags is women my age who missed out on them, or lost them. Or maybe someone wanting a bag their mother, grandmother carried.
Oh we the lucky that understand the secrets of glove tanned leather!!!

Hello, I’m curious about the companion bag (9300). This catalog photo notes it comes in “all 11 coach classic colors shown on page 2“ of that catalog and that this version is sandstone. I’ve looked through all the pinned swatches but do not see any that list sandstone. Can anyone either post a photo of those 11 swatches or at least list them? Did this bag come in red? What year(s) did coach make this bag? Thanks!!

Restored Dinky’s, Basic Bags, Pocket Purses and Swinger’s on the Coach website
Dayum. * looks admiringly at my $35 ish Pocket Purse*

I know really! My Swinger cost me $37. The original strap was cracking badly so I got a beautiful new strap made by a local leatherworker for $25. Total cost: $62.

I can only answer one of your questions, I don't have that catalog, but I do have this one (labeled in my files as 1990, but I'm not certain of that date) which shows the Companion Bag colors Black, Bone, British Tan, Burgundy, Forest Green, Mahogany, Navy, Putty, Red and Tabac.

I’m curious about the Lindsay at the moment and am watching a few beige ones (I don’t know why I’m attracted to such an impractical colour!). Are there two versions of the bag? Ie different sizes? I can’t really tell from the listings because the descriptions all say 8-9” length and width, but looking at the photos it seems there are at least two sizes.
Also, does anyone have the bag? I’m usually not fond of the rolled strap or magnet closure but am really intrigued by this one. And any user review are appreciated. Thanks!
I can’t speak to the Linsay per se, but I found lining up the magnetic pieces on my Garcia flap a touch fussy to where I want to keep that in mind on future purchases for that closure. I don’t seem to mind whatever I need to do to get my turnlock pieces to line up on those bags.
I don’t believe it was offered in two sizes.
If beige = BT, well then yes. Lol

I just rehabbed this bag in red! It has a NYC creed so it was made in the late 80s, possible 1988 or 1989. The only color swatches I have for the period when this style was made are these swatches from 1987 and 1989. The last one shows sandstone on the very left but the picture is poor quality. I don't exactly which years this was made other than late 80s, early 90s.

I have a question for those in the know. I was browsing eBay for another Regina and came across this one:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-COACH-...586874?hash=item365d01187a:g:1csAAOSwz5pePaE6

The creed says 9985 and the crossbody strap is adjustable. Are 9985s considered Reginas, also? The title says 9983, but the creed clearly says otherwise. Just curious.

Thanks in advance!
We've seen several Reginas with 9985 in the creed. This is a known 'mistake' for Reginas.

@whateve, I would love to see the rehabbed red companion!

Sandstone was apparently available in late 1989 and had been discontinued before Winter 1990.

CATBIRD9, your catalog pics are from the Winter Preview 1990 catalog.
