Thanks, whateve. I thought maybe the size or details varied ever so slightly. I have two that y’all authenticated here. One has a creed with Made in U.S.A. and an eight-digit number with no dash below it. I guess that one is a Basic Bag. The other one has Made in New York City with a glued-in serial number. I guess that one could be either. The details and size of each are pretty dang close. This is the only difference (photo). The bag on the left is the NYC one.View attachment 4694590
The difference in the size of the tabs isn't consistent and isn't an indicator of age, with the possible exception that I don't recall ever seeing the shorter tabs on a later style. I have seen both the shorter and longer tabs on NYC bags, and both on bags with glued-in serial numbers. It's possible that when bags were made in NYC, each craftsman was given more leeway in creating these smaller parts, or maybe they made shorter tabs when they only had a smaller piece of leather they wanted to use up.

Hello everyone. I have a question about vintage Logan bag (9907). Is it heavy? Or the turn lock open and close with ease even with the bag weight pull on the front flap? Seems very few listings of Logan online and usually expensive.

The lock should open easily because the weight of the bag is supported by the dowel, not the flap or the turn lock. Do you have a Willis? The Logan should function just like the Willis. I don't know about the weight though.

Thanks @ Morgan_Bellini, I have a Willis, somehow haven't really used it yet. Maybe because after rehab it looks like brand new, I am afraid of ruin it.lol. But the Murphy bag I found if loaded up, when open the turn lock, the front will drop a little bit, make it harder to close. I do really like the look of Logan, just not sure if I will enjoy using it.

Oh come on LS, you should know by now you can't ruin a vintage Coach unless you drop it in front of a herd of stampeding buffalo! Use your Willis! Enjoy it!

I see what you mean though, my Willises tend to drop when loaded up too. But I like that the turn lock isn't weight bearing at least.

Lol.. I totally agree. Also I am only using several bags at the time being so DH will not be alarmed how many purses I bought since November. April 1st my bag ban will start. Now is the last chance to get that bag or those bags I always want.

Got
Thanks so much. I love both of them.

I'm watching a Beckett zip at the moment but I dunno if I'm into the color of it more than the shape, because I know it's not crossbody and I'll never probably reach for it. I'm not much for hobos either.
I find myself getting sucked into colors. I am trying (operative word here) to hold off on a color until it is the right style for me. Or small enough and cheap enough that it qualifies for collecting only

Oh, me too! I'm really trying to pinch my pennies right now considering our uncertain economy at the moment but I've deeply regretted passing on a few rare, colorful bags. One was a burgundy skinny flight bag that I was totally salivating over up until the very last few minutes of the auction when I decided to let it go. I wish I had bought it. I would have swapped that out for the Bleecker shopper that I've been using for my work bag. I think unless I see something in a truly delicious color and priced really low it's going to be a while before I buy any more bags.

At least we know there will be another interesting bag down the road!
