The difference in the size of the tabs isn't consistent and isn't an indicator of age, with the possible exception that I don't recall ever seeing the shorter tabs on a later style. I have seen both the shorter and longer tabs on NYC bags, and both on bags with glued-in serial numbers. It's possible that when bags were made in NYC, each craftsman was given more leeway in creating these smaller parts, or maybe they made shorter tabs when they only had a smaller piece of leather they wanted to use up.Thanks, whateve. I thought maybe the size or details varied ever so slightly. I have two that y’all authenticated here. One has a creed with Made in U.S.A. and an eight-digit number with no dash below it. I guess that one is a Basic Bag. The other one has Made in New York City with a glued-in serial number. I guess that one could be either. The details and size of each are pretty dang close. This is the only difference (photo). The bag on the left is the NYC one.View attachment 4694590
