hi ladies ~ re the metallic re~issues ~ according to my SA ~ manchester have ordered the blue silver & green in the jumbo size only ~ the measurements they gave were 32x19x10 (cm) ~ london have ordered the red also only in the jumbo size ~ seems to be quite a bit of confusion over the sizes this time around ~ :confused1: both stores are taking names ~ neither called me as they said they would ~ so i'm relying on the boutiques ~ haven't let me down yet ~ just thought i'd share ~ v ~ :flowers:

Really!? Who is your SA if you don't mind me asking?! Most of the girls in the store don't know anything when I asked them so they went to ask another woman with long brown hair and a fringe, who I assume is the 'head' as she knew exactly what's been ordered and even some of the other s/s lines I have downloaded onto my itouch..I guess she has some sort of priority in the products available in the store.

Anyway she was the one that said metallic red, metallic navy and metallic green. She didn't mention the metallic silver which I only got to see later on when I was shopping elsewhere and I got the phone call to say that a reissue has arrived. But I wonder why she didn't mention the silver?!?! :confused1:

I am still waiting for a purple reissue medium 226 size  I felt so let down when she said the purple wasn't available.

He he he ...... I know what you mean. I rang them earlier on to ask them something and Matthew recognised me from my voice..... oh dear... how embarrassing.. lol

Thats why I think this thread is so good because you can get other people to ask on your behalf!! I keep asking them why they havent got wallet on chains in stock - the SAs say they 'just get what they get' - but I cant understand it, can they not ring Selfridges in London to see if they have them there and transfer stock..... apparently the SAs say they cant do this... but that seems so strange to me.... it's the same store!

Are you sure you can't transfer stock? I am so sure they told me referring to the purple reissue that I want, that they can actually transfer if they have it down south unless they have a waitlist already down south which means they will not transfer?! Otherwise they would with all other items?!

hi ~ :flowers: ~ "who is my SA" ~ where? ~ i spoke with Lucy @ chanel self london on monday night (she is not my SA) ~ but she advised me they had no news re the re~issues & as yet they had no file open to take names ~ now they have my details as i have bought quite a bit from them over the last few months & they have known for some time that i wanted a couple of re~issues ~ i called back last night when i read the above post about the silver being in @ man ~ & lo & behold they suddenly do have a file full of names for the re~issues! ~ the SA i spoke to claimed my details would be there so i asked her to please make sure & call me back ~ she wasn't too pleased @ this! ~ lol! ~ & surprise surprise ~ my name had not been added to the list! ~ :hysteric: ~ i only asked about red & brown ~ both of which they are getting ~ but only in the largest sizes ~ it was June who gave me the info @ chanel self man ~ she definately said silver (which as we know is in), blue & green ~ no red!

this is the very reason i have a SA in all the chanel stores b/c they all get different items & they all give different info. ~ you really have to keep @ them to get everything you want ~ which shouldn't be the case ~ but that's how life is ~ heh? ~ :flowers: ~ v

Next time I go to Manchester I'll make sure I will read the name of the brown haired woman who knew her stuff.....kicking myself why I didn't bother looking, :push: I usually do!!

June I know worked in LV Manchester before Chanel opened, when I asked her about the reissue, she was the one who didn't know so took my picture to the brown haired woman. But she seems alright.

Brown haired woman on the other hand looked abit stern...

Hi ladies; I just spoke to Matthew at Manchester Chanel (was looking for a Black GST with s/h, which they have in stock btw) and he said the spring collection which is in stores now has sold out of the 2.55/ reissues already but they should be getting some more in with the spring/ summer collection at the end of January. I also enquired about the rose pink east/west and he said he isn't sure if they are coming in but the rest of the collection will be in around March time.

These SAs dont seem sure about anything.... so you are probably right, Brenda! I have checked twice with different SAs about ordering them in. They say they cant.... I think I will ring one more time and ask SPECIFICALLY - can they transfer stock between Selfridges stores.

I do know, from experience, that Selfridges Traff will only accept returns from Exchange Square if both stores sell the product (so for example, Selfridges Traff would not issue a refund for a chanel bag bought from Exchange Sq even though it is same store!!) Crazy.... and just a little bit annoying!! So I wonder if that is the same with transferring stock?

whhhaaaattttt? ~ "sold out of re~issues" :wtf: ~ does he mean they've sold the 3 silver bags they had?!!! ~ wish they'd be a bit more precise & give out the same info to everyone who asks! ~

Maybe they've all been waitlisted and therefore aren't available to anyone else? All he said to me was that they've sold out of anything spring at the moment but I didn't enquire much further as I'm not after a reissue myself :smile1:. He did say that the spring/ summer collection is huge though with many different sizes and styles so hopefully there will be enough to go around!

^so why do they not just say that then? ~ there would be a lot less :confused1: if they did! ~ btw ~ i heard that the boutiques are expecting their re~issues in @ the end of next week ~ :woohoo: ~ :flowers:

That's why I choose to deal with Bond St store. I rang them in the past asking for something that they didn't have in stock at the time so they took my details and rang back 3 weeks later telling me that they managed to track down the bag that I wanted. This was the first time I spoke to them so they didn't know me from Adam and they still managed to find me my bag.

I have since dealt with them regarding a repair of a vintage bag and, again, the service was fantastic. The SA was super-friendly and the repair was done in less that 48 hours, for free. I even spoke to the lady in charge of leather repairs who was an absolute sweetheart despite the stressful Christmas period.

Even though Manchester is the nearest concession to me I don't think I will be dealing with them a great deal simply because of the level of service that they provide (or rather don't). There's just no excuse for it, I'm not a major spender in Manchester Hermes either but the SA there are a LOT more helpful  Same with Vuitton, come to think of it.

Went to Chanel to return a bag today and came out with the timeless pearls instead.... so not altogether a successful trip in terms of 'money saving' as planned......

They didnt have any reissues on display and didnt really seem to have any new stock -apart from the jersey bubble quilt small flap bag I have returned today, of course! I loved this bag to pieces but havent used it all since I bought it - so no point sitting in wardrobe.

This time, I spoke to the manager because she was the only one able to do a refund. She did look rather stern but was very helpful. She is called Sally. I explained that I am looking for a wallet on a chain and she helpfully rang round all the chanel stores and london selfridges to see if they have stock. She also confirmed that Selfridges CAN transfer stock from London to Manchester but unfortunately for me, the London shop didnt have what I want either. On different trips to Chanel, not one of the SAs has offered to do this before..... so from now on, I will deal with the manager only.
