Brendating... I can imagine that.. I visited Chanel today, and a SA there didn't seem to understand when I asked for reissue item. Anyway, she was quite helpful when I asked for more info about GST. So I think it's not that bad :)

I will be off to Chanel tomorrow, will ask for the 'quilted wallet on a chain.' I have even downloaded all of the purple reissue pics :p onto my itouch so I won't have to explain the word reissue and certainly not the word metallic purple either! :graucho:

Does anyone know what kind of jewelry the Manchester branch stocks? I'm looking for one of their longer style, several strand necklaces...I thought about phoning them up but I can just imagine how confusing the conversation would be, what with my technical descriptions... :shrugs:

"erm I'm looking for a necklace...not sure which one...do you have any longish ones... you know...with the charm thingys....and the kind of gold-silvery colour..." :confused1:

Brenda - did they have the black quilted wallet on a chain? Last time I went in they only had the caviar cambon type one which isnt for me.

Libertygirl - they do have a few necklaces in there but not many, they have a few timeless pearl necklaces, and a black, glittery longish necklace - dont think I have seen any with charms. Can you describe it to me? Is it current season? If you can find me a pic, I will keep an eye out - I think I am going to Manchester this weekend.

Oh it isn't a specific one I was looking for. I saw an adorable long necklace that Emma Watson wore a few months ago but I doubt I'll find that so I've just been keeping a lookout for any longish necklaces that strike my fancy :smile1:
If you do see any nice ones, I'll be much obliged if you let me know...I'll try to make it to the store ASAP

oooo, i just saw this thread, it's so nice to have a thread for the manchester store..
Brendating, i want to ask, when they put ur details down, is it on a piece of white card?? i called few days ago, although the SA knew the 'reissue' once i said it, but she told me she wasn't sure what they r going to get yet, so didn't put my details down and ask me to call later.....so i'm wondering what is going on there..:confused1:

The black glittery one I was talking about it earlier was VERY nice - but I dont remember it having any C symbols on it or charms. It is basically black pearls, gems coloured a gold/ yellow, grey etc. It was very nice, quite glitzy but also understated at the same time. Very nice for dressy evenings but I think it could be dressed down as well. It was long enough to be doubled, or just worn as one long strand. My mum tried it on and fell in love with it and then gingerly took it off when we discovered it was £690 ish!!

There are some other necklaces, which do have the CCs symbol - they were different coloured beads (green, black, purple etc) I didnt really like this necklace, I thought it was a bit too 'trendy' to be classic.

And then the timeless pearls which I think SA said they were either £320 or £390 - cant remember....

If I work out how to use the camera on my new phone, I will ask if I am allowed to take photos and then will PM you.

down here in london when i even mention the words reissue they dont have a clue, does that mean theres already a waiting list on the navy and antique bronze reissues and that i should get down there and put my details down now??

:tup:that is a good idea, i will be taking a big print out of the reissue im after so im not faced with blank looks by the SA's, good luck. any ideas what the reissues will retail at?

LOL I am ALWAYS doing this...I try something on and start gushing over it; I finally remember to ask the price only to be told it's some astronomical sum. I try to act completely unsurprised and unphased by this but it never works; the SA's see right through me every time

You're so lovely to even try...having lovely ladies like you here on tpf makes up for the fact that I live ITMON (in the middle of nowhere!!) :smile1:

I don't think the reissues were affected by the price increase last year as it was only the 'classic' line that went up. So if we're going by last years prices, I'd say they'll be around the £1300 mark :sweatdrop:

Even with the hefty price tag though, they're so worth it just because of how gorgeous they are :girlsigh:.

Ah, Chanel sure know how to get money out of us!

LOL - that's exactly what we tried to do - but think SA saw through us too!!! he he

Just being nosey - where do you live? I live in Burnley - is it more 'back of beyond' than that??:p

I live in Newport, Shropshire...it's nice but very small...think one street where they have 16 hairdressers... but no Chanel! Birmingham's not too far but I can't say it's my favourite city which is why I'm so thrilled Chanel has come to Manchester! A much more reasonable distance than London

Just to update you ladies, most of the SA's here call the reissues the 2.55 bag. Hope this helps. Also pre-price increase the 226 size reissue was £1160 and the 227 size (jumbo equivalent) was £1300. I don't know the new prices yet though as all the reissues were sold out in the UK before the price increase.
