Plenty of threads on quota bags, including in different country's variables.

Question: I know Hermès has annual sales in Paris, but do individual stores in the United States ever have items on sale?
No. There are sometimes sale events, in a specific city, once or twice a year off site from the boutiques but never individual items along side normal products nor within the boutiques themselves. One year the event might be held in San Fran, another year NY, etc.

I honestly think it depends on how you vibe with your SA and how the general expectations regarding purchase history are in your country. If you don't have an assigned SA yet, I would head to the store, look around and perhaps purchase something small to "get the ball rolling", then send a polite follow-up mail thanking your SA, mention you've been looking for an Evie TPM or Mini Lindy and to please let you know if they happen to come across one (i.e. I'd be proactive).
The only reason why I mentioned the purchase history expectations is because I've seen both sides of the coin - I was offered a Mini Lindy as a walk-in with zero purchase history in that particular store (in Europe but not in Paris), but have also heard from friends in SEA that their store does require certain pre-spending to be offered more sought after non-quota bags. Best of luck on your H journey!
Thank you so much for the advice! I actually never thought of sending a follow-up mail and mentioning the items I want, but that is a great idea! I appreciate your help

Newbie question - I made a wishlist in August during my first visit and am planing my second visit in October and hopefully another one in December for gifts for different occasions (I live 5 hours away from the closest store).

Do you bring up the topic of your wishlist during each visit? Or just wait until the SA bring up the topic? Realistically I know I won’t be able to have my dream bag that soon but also don’t want my wish to be forgotten since I’m sure my SA is very busy. Thanks for any insights on what have worked for you!

I think it would get annoying to bring up the wishlist during each visit. Bring it up again in December, I'm sure you can find a way to work it into the conversation. It's important to develop a good relationship with your SA.

Thanks for the response! I absolutely would not want to annoy my SA early on :)

Jaune ambre is a seasonal color. However, every now and then it will pop up in either SLG items or bags so keep your eyes opened!
Hi there. This sounds like a total nightmare. My guess is this is exactly why they don't ship internationally (unless approved by the higher ups). The lipstick part sounds like it was an error on customs part. The CITIES part sounds like an error on the associates part. It is very important to include that with any item whether the client is travelling or not. Regardless, when things like this happen it is always best to contact H as soon as you realize something is wrong/missing. This way they are able to check for errors internally and make it right to you. Since it has been months since this incident happened it is likely that they would not be able to confirm anything since video records might not go back that long. I would probably use your best judgement and see what the best form of action is. Personally I would try and keep contacting someone in the company to fix this for you. Carriers might vary depending on where the item is going so they might have used someone else while shipping in Europe but when it arrives in the US it might be picked up by FedEx and delivered by them to the final destination.
VIP/VIC status is usually those who have an extensive purchase history usually in the hundreds of thousands. Goodies like that are usually given at events or if its small gifts that are sent directly to you it's your SA nominating you in most instances.
Hi Mr. Ex,
Wanted to let you know. I contacted Paris management and they assisted with the situation. They were wonderful. Most of my nightmare is over. Received everything but two items today. I’m very happy and relieved to get most of it after months. Thanks for the suggestion. :flowers:

@Lavendera, +1 with @acrowcounted. Were you referring to the old. annual/October NY sample sales (60% off leather, 40 off silk) at Soiffer Haskins, a professional sample sale location? Back then, your NY Hermes SA would put regular clients on a list for the day before which was press/private day. A bunch of TPFers would go early to wait on line. Probably around 2009-2011, I got a troika bolide 31, Nero, phw; a 42 marron fonce fjord paris Bombay; a 42 sac de peche ebene briefcase for DH; my first medor CDC belt; a mini bearn and some other items. Someone famously got a green kelly, ghw.

In later years, I stopped going bc there was mainly RTW, but no leather goods and a limit on silks, an the location would be in different cities. I think Hermes was just cleaning out its warehouse or backlog. I don’t think I’ve been to a sample sale since 2012, and I don’t recall a recent notification. Paris might still have them in January, and a TPF member shopfranceinc. (also on eBay) used to fly there and personal shop (I have no affiliation to shopfranceinc except as a client for Frederic Malle fragrance)

"Has anyone ever received a SO as their first quota bag?" (and the implied question... "is it possible for me?")

I just really started getting into the idea of getting a quota bag- I'm new to the brand and really only initially wanted one thing- but I got an AMAZING SA I click with and started to fall down the rabbithole. My "problem" is that I don't plan to have more than one, and I love both the ideas of a neutral bag and a bright bag. But I'm a newb and would never ask that of my SA because I don't want her to think I'm just outlandish for even asking.
I did. I was offered an SO having never purchased a B or K before. I did end up purchasing a B30 while waiting for the SO to come in. Have to say, I was completely shocked when the SO offer came. But I had been purchasing other items for a while (just love H generally). And it was actually my SA who broached the subject of a B or K (generally, not SO) first.

May I ask if you felt you had a relatively high spend, or more of just an average spend over a longer period?

What is the best website for picture authentication for a birkin with 24-48hour turn around? Any answer is helpful, sorry if this has been asked before, this is my first time posting in the Hermes forum. This will be my first Hermes bag. It's an older series, 2006
