Plenty of threads on quota bags, including in different country's variables.

I have a super petty question - do SA’s check out a client’s hands when they come in? My lifestyle is not conducive to maintaining mani’s and sometimes I do feel self conscious about it, even if I’m otherwise generally put together.
No SA at VCA, Verdura, Bulgari, Brunello, Dior, Chanel, and Hermes ever noticed my lack of manicure or pedicure! I prefer none especially during covid!
Shop on!

Hello! Just wanted to thank everyone for their insight and for sharing their experience on this thread! The content has been so helpful. I am an Hermes newbie and slowly curating my collection! I have been buying things both at my local store with my SA and also online (especially during the pandemic). The online stock has been insane (esp the fun colored Orans and Chypres) and some things were too good to pass up since my local store is small. I know overall purchase history is taken into consideration when offered a quota bag, so I am wondering if anyone knows whether they take into account in store and online or just in store with my one SA? My SA said she could see my online purchase history and I was quite surprised. I thought this was not true?

Correct. They can see your purchase history whether it was online or at another store. As far as those items counting towards your quota bags they should even though it was online.

thanks Mr. Ex - I am loving this thread.
I have a question as well, is it typically frowned upon to buy multiples of a certain item. I have heard that this is bad on our profiles...what's your view on this? The reason given was that one may be perceived to be a reseller...

Thank you! Just trying to be helpful.
It's not frowned upon but rather the fact that there are limits to the qty's of items you can buy.

My SA calls the shipping team the “Shipping Team” or refers to the shipping manager when we are discussing my orders arriving or having items sent to me. I have never heard him refer to them as “back of house.”

Back of house is just a more broad term.

Hi Mr. Ex, I love Hermes scarves and continue to purchase several every season. I love all things H and Petit H so much that I no longer purchase from any other design house. I am curious how scarves equate to the over all purchasing for quota bags? I read your posts about jewelry, watches, shoes, RTW ... my sa always show me the new season scarves. I'm wondering if it's because they know how much I love them or/and is it good for sa's to sell more of them also?

Grateful for all the time you are spending with us. Thank you!

Everything should count towards that special bag :) Scarves might take a while longer due to the lower price point but if you're patient enough and you love scarves then you'll be fine.

I know it really depends on the size of the boutique, but for a small to medium sized Hermes store, how many quota bags does it receive in a year and how often? I have read somewhere that stores get delivery of quota bags every six months and they get allocated to clients, how true is this statement?

This has to do with the volume of the store rather than the size. You can have a mall sized hermes selling 10 mil a year but a much smaller one doing twice as much. In that case the smaller store will get more bags.

My SA placed an online order for me, and had it shipped to my home directly. When I received it, I saw that it was shipped from another H store with another SA - do you know if my SA will get commission from this order?

For online items that may be sold out soon, I'm also concerned that if I wait for my SA to place it, it may be gone already. Any suggestions to this?

Whoever's name is on the "associate" line then that's the person who will receive the credit. If your SA placed the order then he should be the one to reach out to whatever store he got the item from and take care of that. It's very considerate of you and I'm sure your SA would appreciate it.

It's all a bit crazy that instead of just ordering what we like online we should be sending links to our SAs, who may or may not respond, may or may not be able to get it... All this so that it goes towards the relationship that helps unlock the quota bags?! Is it just me, or is this complete madness?

I wonder whether SAs appreciate it or whether they think "Oh God, another client desperate for a B, who's going to make me to get this random scarf instead of ordering it online her/himself"?

It's def tough times right now depending on the location but if the SA wants to make some numbers then he/she should help regardless of the items.

They don’t.
Maybe the on-line order that your SA helped with the order? I knew for fact that a store even counts an item (a shawl) that was purchased from a different store towards a quota bag! I am not sure if it was a special approval or continuing policy (not my store). Hermes rules are hard to predict and ever changing...

Seems like it's store dependent. I give up trying to figure it out, will just place the order through my SA to be safe then

All items count towards a quota bag. They don't sit down, pull out a calculator and subtract whatever you've purchased online. The only issue you might run into is if you're doing your shopping with another SA. At that point they will most likely just let you shop with the other SA. If you're SA is telling you that it doesn't count it's because they want you to shop with them. At the end of the day your SA has all the discretion as to who they will offer a bag to and this is why it is important that you find someone who you get along with so that every single penny you spend counts.

Hi Mr. Ex,
Did I understand correctly in a prior post here that soon one's Paris purchases can be seen by a usa store sa? I have done some distance purchasing and was wondering if my sa can see these items in the system. Also, can the reverse happen for my Paris sa see my spend from the usa system? Thank you so much for your time and answer!

Hi there, they've been working on a system that will only allow the company to determine whether a B or K was purchased in Paris rather than seeing all purchase history. There's no ETA on that yet and no word on whether Paris will be able to do the same but if I were to guess I would say that this is something that would work both ways. Of course though this can change at any given time.

Based on my experience with Louis Vuitton where they had my history of purchases from Chicago, Honolulu, Maui and Paris going back many years, I'd assume Hermes could easily do the same. Hermes Honolulu saw I bought scarves and other things in Hermes Paris.
