So sad to hear you had a fall out with your SA, Khol! If you have time I'd be really curious to hear the story sometime... I've had some that aren't as nice as others but the one I found in Toronto is SO SWEET - I love seeing her and she is always so sweet and accommodating!

Thank you. It's okay, it happened a long time ago and is over and done with. I haven't talked to her since I got my ring. I have since built a nice relationship with two other SAs at different stores that I frequently visit. I wish I had shopped for SAs more because it makes me a little ill that someone so undeserving got the commission from my ring :p

I guess in honeybeez's case, the SA's attitude and demeanor doesn't matter as much because the SA will just be dealing the transaction. I had my SA searching for rings and she was super lazy and didn't do a good job. She only brought in one ring for me and told me that was it in the inventory. Stupidly, I got that ring even though I was not happy with the size, but since it was supposedly the only one in stock I had no other choice! Being unhappy, I did my own searching and I found multiple other rings in my color, size, and price range in other stores (that were not new)! So that's where all the bad blood came in. Anyway, so finding a SA that will truly listen to you and go the distance in finding your dream ring is important. But since the ring is already there in the store, that's all irrelevant!!!

Anyway, honeybeez, I think at this point, you should definitely choose what style appeals to you most!! Don't worry about brand, reputation, etc. Just focus on what you think you can wear every day and what makes your heart flutter.

I am not dealing with the sa face to face this time. All r through emails and replies. But the hw sa is more detail in telling me about the ring. The sa in houston tiffany is ok too as she helps to search for those in my price range. Sadly nothing came up for the classic except the 1.35 H which has excellent light return. This is the picture of the hw 1.16. Opps. I will need kohl help to post it here. Thanks dear. :) hehe

It's so beautiful and the size seems good as well. What do you think of it? ;)

Thanks kohl. ;)

This is one of the sa's hand. Her finger is size 4 but the ring in size 4.5.
I m a size 6! So if i get this, i need to bring it to the beijing saloon n have it resize which is abit troublesome if the beijing branch dont want or cannot do it.
What do u think of the size comparison between this n acrowcounted 1.33 solitaire?

Keep in mind that my ring size is a 6 so pretty much any ring on a size 4 finger is going to look much bigger because its not apples to apples.

Coverage-wise, I think the Halo will look larger because thats what Halos are there for. In terms of millimeters, the two stones you're considering really aren't that different so the Halo will make all the difference.

I'm a huge Tiffany Solitaire cheerleader but I must say, in this instance, it would be really difficult to walk away from that HW. (btw- I don't think I've ever told anyone on this forum to get 'the other ring' when a Tiffany solitaire was one of the options, before now...)

Love the HW! However, I would ask some experts here about sizing the ring. I know it isn't always the best to size down, because it can loosen stones. Not sure about sizing up. They don't have the setting in your size that they can just put that diamond in?

Helo there, i know many of the girls here own this diamond ring. First of all i would like to congratulate u gals for being so lucky owning one of the most beautiful engagement ring. :)
I would like to ask all the owners of this ring, do u find the knife edge band uncomfortable after wearing it for long period? For example, will the knife edge cut into the sides of ur 3rd finger and last finger? Thank u.

Hi dear, I was really struggling between Tiffany novo and HW microwave when i was ring hunting a year ago. I've got some good advice from this forum and had some my own learnings as well. I would say it really depends your style. HW is amazing, but somehow it didn't look perfectly right on my finger, I finally went for Novo. Still love it very much, I would say for Ering, probably go for the clean classic, and timeless one. You can check out my previous post if it helps. :) Good luck!

I am a size 6 too! So the hw might really look small on my fingers.
I think the tiffany setting is easier to maintain. And can be resize up or down.
The micropave band although is very nice but it is also very dainty... Meaning it will need alot of special care. N how many times do u think u can size the pave band up and down. Lol... This is because the finger size always changes. When diet...smaller, put on weight bigger, n pregnant also will get even bigger. Lol...

I agree. :smile1:

If you decide to choose the HW, make sure that the salon in Beijing will do it for you and whether if it is recommended to be done. Maybe even inquire about if there is an extra cost/charge since they may have to add additional melee to the ring.

If it is too much trouble, maybe the Tiffany solitaire would be a safer choice.

I had/have the same worry. My band is pave and I am scared to size it, especially since it's winter, I have not yet had kids, I assume I will gain weight as I age, etc, and don't want to be resizing more than once because I don't want diamonds falling out. I told my jeweler about this, and he is going to sodder a piece of gold inside of the band as a "sizer". You won't be able to see it with the ring on the finger. He said he can take it out / make it a different size at any point in life. Could be an option for you if you are worried about the pave!

I would go for the Tiffany!!! I would... I know I'm biased b/c I have it, but it is so classic and clean, so easy to maintain, held up to the light so it really sparkles, and I think that size is really nice for a size 6 finger!! I'm not CRAZY about halos myself unless they are surrounding yellow diamonds in which case for some reason I LOVE them. :) I would let the centre stone speak for itself, get a really sparkly eternity band to go with it as your wedding band and stick with the classic! :)

I'd worry about all the re-sizing issues especially if you do think you'll fluctuate too...
(ps the sizing band inside sounds like an excellent idea!)
