I was told something within my budget came up for the harry winston micropave.
It is 1.16 carat, f color, vs2. And they r willing to give price accomodation.
Do u think this is a better choice than the tiffany 1.35 h color vs2?
In ur expert opinions which will give more finger coverage?
I have to get either one of these diamonds during my husband's trip to usa which is on first week of february. Thank u all so much. :)

Surfergirljen, have u found ur diamond yet? Urs should be amazing! I tried on a 2.02 h color in the classic setting and it is the most beautiful diamond i have ever tried on.
Too bad i dont have that much budget. :) and nobody around me wears such big rock!

Hey! Well halos are definitely fashionable right now! :) I would think boys would love them b/c they can get more bang finger-coverage wise for their buck! :)

I THINK I've found it - am waiting for it to come in and am SO excited... I think I'm going to go with the 2.10 G VS2... very very excited! :) :) :) I know what you mean when I pass that classic setting counter in Tiffany's, I just absolutely MELT. :love::love::love: Perfection!

Ooooh fun! Well... that is a tough call!!! I think I'd take the Tiffany's but with those stats, you're going up a few colours for less coverage... it's kind of a wash. In this case I would go with the style that makes your heart sing and be happy! I can't quite picture the HW so my choice is Tiffany's for size and style but either way it's going to be so gorgeous!!! :)

I dont know whether it is less coverage or not as someone told me the halo will make the 1.16 cushion look bigger than a 1.35 plain solitaire? But then again the hw halo is so delicate, i wonder whether it will even make any difference at all.
Surfergirljen, i am so excited for u!! Ur 2.10 should be even more gorgeous than the 2.02 i tried on.... Omg!! :)

the HW would be gorgeous!! I think even with the delicate micropave halo, the 1.16 HW halo would look bigger than a Tiff 1.35 solitaire regardless of the mm width. it would just be blingier and sparklier!!!

What cut is the HW?

I'm usually a Tiffany fan, but if it is not a cushion cut (which looks smaller) then I would choose the HW in this case.

If you want a solitaire that looks HUGE, try the Tiffany Bezet. That and the Bead Set Border ring... Both settings make the center stone look massive!

I would absolutely go with HW! But I love a good classic halo ring and am one that is willing to drop size for color. So u win me with the halo and f color!

The coverage will most likely be more on the HW because of the halo adding that extra bling. But the solitaire is a much more clean look. It's really up to you!

How i try to decide these things is to inagine how id feel if i got one over the other. For example, if he gave u the tiffany, would u regret or still think about the hw? Or vice versus? Which would u be more sad to lose? And If u absolutely can't decide then let your husband surprise you.

Do u think the micropave will be outdated one day? What is tempting abt the micropave is the f color as opposed to h color from tiffany. But the size of cushion might be teeny weenie... If u know what i mean.

^^ This HW pave has a halo around it right?

I'm not sure if you should worry about anything being outdated. As long as you like it, that should be the most important factor. I like outdated rings-there is an antique appeal to them, but that's just me.

Tough call, but, once you see the rings, you'll be able to make up your mind more easily. Good luck!

HW gets my vote!
the HW cushion is a classic imo it has been around for a long time and I think it's here to stay!

cushion are not that much smaller then a round...yes the rounds look biggers but with the halo it should appear larger then a solitaire. you'll just have to try both on take a pic to compare the finger coverage of both:smile1:

Agree with the others! HW! IMO, there won't be a very noticeable size difference between the two, and if you put a halo around it, it will look bigger regardless of the size difference, but what are the other specs? How is the cut? How deep is the diamond since that affects the mm measurement?

I dont have the hw measurement as the stone only arrive tomorrow but the sa advised me to quickly decide because this is f and vs2. According to him it goes very quickly. I dont think he knows the measurement yet. Hmm.... So hard to decide. I think hw gets more vote right?

If you can't choose between the tiffany and HW, instead of asking for our opinion, why not ask your bf? or rather...why not put both on reserve and let him look at it and choose. when he finally propose you will get a wonderful surprise!
