Honeybeez, I remember you saying that the service at Tiffany in hk was snooty, lol. How is it in Malaysia? !

I found the SA at Tiffany Pavilion to be really helpful even over a long distance.

I live in Australia and as I was going to be in KL, called them in advance re what I was interested in. We also communicated a fair bit by email even though the purchase was modest (ie an eternity band for me, lucida band for the Mr).

When we got to the store, we were still undecided re our choices and looked at alternatives. Even then, they were happy to check pricing in Australia so that we could choose to purchase where it might have been cheaper!

Pretty stellar service compared to Singapore, Perth & Melbourne!

hi everyone, i have decided to take the tiffany setting due to the low maintenance and also, the hw that i could afford unfortunately is not in my size! if it is in my size...i would get it instantly. too bad it is not. i dont want to go through the trouble of bringing the ring to other saloon to resize it up 2 sizes~ who knows what will happen to the durability after resizing. :) thank u all for ur supports all these while. who ever has the finger size 4.5 and would like to get this ring, it is from the hw in dallas. it is a really pretty ring.
now i need ur help ladies... between these 3 which one will u choose and why?

Honestly? None of them. But the HCAs you gave are not correct, I entered the info in there again and got different results. Two show a pavilion percentage, one shows the angle, which makes a difference. If you have SEEN THESE IN PERSON, and you like one, ignore the paper and the HCA score.

#1: for the 1.35 H VS2

Selected: 62.7% depth, 56% table, 34.8° crown angle, 43.4% pavilion, 0% cutlet

I knew you were going to say that! As soon as I saw a few of the stats, I thought of you and knew what you would say! You are teaching me(us) well! :smile1:

yea I didn't really think the HCA scores looked quite right just based on numbers I was seeing. They aren't HORRIBLE but they're not ideal. #2 of these is the best of that bunch but I know they can do better.

Unfortunately these r the best they have! Many more which r available has hca 4.3, 4... N so on. So these is the nearest to 2.
Ame , do u mean the hca score is wrong after entering the info? :(

I think a 2.anything score would be really gorgeous!! Honestly my 1.5 was a 3.9 and it sparkled and shone like crazy!!! I'm sure you won't be disappointed in anything in the 2 range. Just do make sure you're putting in the right numbers!

I showed my SA at Tiffany's all my "TIL range" scores and research and she was intrigued... she didn't know of a calculator that did that... but also mentioned that those are purely based on angles and don't take inclusions etc. into account. In my case I said that we were comparing TIffany diamonds to Tiffany diamonds (meaning there won't be any unfortunately placed, bad inclusions) and all in roughly the same clarity value so they should be pretty reliable - but like everyone's said here, ultimately it comes down to what looks gorgeous to the eye and I can tell you I've never seen a diamond in their case that doesn't dance and shoot fire honeybeez!

Especially since you can't see them in person, and are on kind of a time line with your DF's trip to the US, I would go with the lowest scoring one and then try to forget the numbers and enjoy the ring! :)

I was very happy to have something that scored 2 something in my recent search - the one I think I'm going to keep is a 1.7 but how much difference can there be between 1.7 and 2.1 for example, really? You're going to love it try not to worry too much! :) Sometimes too much info is a bad thing! LOL.

You had them incorrectly listed. My guess is that when you put in the info, you mis-entered some of your information, probably the Pavilion information. Two listed percents not angles, and that makes a big difference. I redid the figure and put the actual HCA I got in my post above with three quotes, one for each diamond.

OF this bunch I'd probalby go with #2, but I don't think you can go too far wrong. When you get it, you'll probably love it, and all will be fine. LOOK at the stone, NOTE the paperwork. It could be great on paper and look like crap to your eyes, and be crappy on paper and look great to your eyes.

Doing this from afar is certainly not easy, especially since you're (honeybeez) not in the states to return it to another location.

Thanks ame for pointing it out. I think i wont be returning the diamond after purchasing it. N it is from tiffany, so i believe their diamonds r very sparkly. :)
Just wanted to choose something near to hca2...luckily i ask all the opinions here. Else i would be so blur.
So the tiffany ring will come with one cert and one receipt? Anything else?

Ame, i would like to ask u... Why for the #1 n #2, u key in pavillion percentage instead of angle? Because the tiffany sa do provide me with the pavillion angle as well.
Is it more accurate to use percentage?

Angle is more accurate.
