The ridiculous feeling of wanting a bag you know will not work out for you.

Well. This is me reaching for a clown nose as well, as I don't remember when I've last carried one of my medium shoulder carry totes and I just ordered a new one. :P
In the last year or so I've been favoring backpacks and my Coach Field totes with a single long shoulder strap. I think I carried my LC LP XL once this fall for school and that's it. So I def need one double strap tote more.

Celine Box Bag, Celine Triomphe Bag, YSL LouLou, now Celine Romy?? I think I have to come to terms with the fact that I was attracted because of the brand and because it looks good on other people. That doesn't have anything to do with me or how the bag will work with my life.

How are you liking the Celine Box Bag, I love the look of this bag and how it looks on other people. I am a very casual jeans and tshirt stay at home mom so I feel like this bag will not be a good fit for me.

For me, it wasn’t even the sag or the “tricky” opening. I love the north-south shape and the more user-friendly Massai Cut just doesn’t give me the same butterflies.

I used my first Massai because it was black. The swift leather felt so luxe. I got the Massai GM and felt guilty about having 2 so I sold the black. But later realised the GM was too big for shortie me and I sold that too. The 3rd red one was too much of a pop of colour and although I kept that for years, I finally just accepted that the red was out of my comfort zone.

I’m really a black bag girl. This last one in Gold has a chance since it’s a neutral colour so I can carry it as a summer bag. A part of me is thinking that if I can find a Massai in black again then it will right all my wrongs.
I understand you very well

I feel this way about the BV Tomas Maier hobo
and, also the Hermes 35 Trim II

Honestly, the capacity is not that big. Casual outfits and mom I would recommend the Polene Neuf instead. For Celine, get the VINTAGE Celine box bags, with the horse carriage logo or the older version of the triomphe logo. I have a shoulder bag version of this and it holds SO MUCH STUFF! It definitely holds more than the box bag.

I am trying to stop looking at the YSL Icare Shopper bag, because I am sure it is too gigantic for someone my height. My mom thinks my Spy Bags are too big. I ignore that.

Get this instead:

Thanks for the info., that is also another reason why I haven't bought the box bag, it doesn't seem to be able to put a lot of stuff in the bag. I will just admire it from afar.

This Coach Soft Tabby keeps calling my name but I’m trying to resist!

I figured I’d try listing all the reasons why it won’t work for me to see if that helps to ease the temptation:

  • The leather is smooth and I prefer pebbled leather that isn’t easily marked.
  • There is no more room for bags that need to be babied in my collection. If I can’t throw it in the stroller basket or wear it on the playground then I don’t need it, because I spend way more time doing toddler friendly activities than anything these days.
  • I know that I wouldn’t often reach for this color bag compared to others in my collection that work better with my wardrobe.
  • I prefer bags that keep their shape and would need an insert for this one.
  • I’d have to get it at Macy’s and not my local Coach store, which I love to shop at. Even though we all know that this color is just for department stores, I’d still feel like I’m cheating.
Maybe that last one is a little bit of a reach.

It’s the Celine box bag for me too! I used to own it in black and tan, but sold both as it was looking weird even if I really tried to make it work for me. I’m quite tall and the strap is not adjustable, it looked like I was wearing a bum bag/was squeezed I still think it’s an amazing bag, just not for me unfortunately!

Pic attached so you get the idea

For me, it's the Dior Book Tote.

I've seen so many people use it to travel and I absolutely love the print, but it would be too precious to travel with and too big to use daily.
Furla Opportunity is a cheaper spin on the Book tote. But with bags like the Book tote you'll want to get an organizer that has a zipper to keep your stuff safe.

For me its the Prada crystal re-edition bag. I tried it in the store and it is so short when I tried it on my shoulder and the crystals, although beautiful are super shiny. Seems like such an impractical bag for my current lifestyle but I cannot stop thinking about it. Sometimes I feel like just taking the plunge but it would be now $2500 down the drain as it will just sit in my closet.

I tried on the sparkly gold version recently and was so tempted too! It's such a fun bag! I'm still thinking about it, but I worry about the sparkly pieces falling off over time and the bag being high maintenance...

I feel like this is the type of bag to get in a cheaper version in case it does fall apart . On the other hand, maybe the more expensive Prada one won't?
