The ridiculous feeling of wanting a bag you know will not work out for you.

Thanks again for the suggestions.

I have 2 pairs of Wayfarers that fit my face well. One pair always stays in my car. Unfortunately my absolute favorite pair was lost/stolen and I haven’t been able to find the same style.

ohh that’s so sad
its Really awful when something like that happens.

And I think Wayferer’s suit all face shapes and look great on everyone, the only problem with the classic RayBan wayferer (the 2140 ) they hit on many wome’s cheekbones but if the 2140 doesn’t affect you in that way those are great Choice.
sadly the 2140 did hit my cheekbones and felt uncomfortable so I went with wayferer ease(the number 4340)

how big are your sunglasses?

im asking this because I have a suggestion for them if they aren’t like oversized.
the tip: buy a fostergrant reading glasses and try to fit your sunnies in the little case the reading glasses come with.

my Rayban wayferers and my RayBan aviators fit in that case . My mom she uses reading glasses and she gave the case that comes and fitted so nice. Saving me a lot of space in my small bags.
im a small handbags user and my sunnies are most so if your sunnies are slim or not too big they might fit in a reading glasses case.

I specifically got a foldable pair of Wayfarers to fit in my bags because I tend to carry smaller ones. Such a game changer!

To answer the OP, I love the look of top handle flap bags but find them annoying to get in and out of. I have one with a turnlock closure and hate fussing with it when I’m on the go. But I find myself daydreaming about others in this style because they’re just so pretty to me!

I was watching a red PS1 and a grey PS1 on TRR. Added them both to my favorites and let them stay there to think on for a while. I had decided to get the grey one, only to log in and see it had sold!!!

So I got the red one instead and I really regret it. It's a gorgeous bag but all the reasons I had decided AGAINST getting a red bag are still there -- the grey one being taken didnt make those reasons magically disappear! The red doesn't go with what I usually like to wear (purple, pink, teal blues). I am a colorful dresser which is why I have always tried to buy neutral bags. It's the only red bag in my collection so I'm going to at least try to give it a chance. I have a couple of fall and winter outfits that I could see it working with but when I buy a bag I want it to go with pretty much everything. I don't like planning my outfits around a bag and I feel like with this red bag I pretty much have to, or else it's going to clash badly. If it still doesn't "spark joy" by the end of this winter, I'll consign it again and consider it a lesson learned.

I've got a lot of grey bags already and I keep reminding myself of that... but the regret of missing out on a bag that I could wear effortlessly is really gnawing at me!PS1 Bags.jpg

For me, it's a very specific bag. My arch-purse enemy, The original Hermes Massai.

I love the look of this bag. Everything really. I covet it more than a Birkin.

I've bought and sold (Noir PM) and bought and sold (Graphite GM) and bought and sold (Rouge of some kind PM), in the span of 10+ years. I now own it again - Clemence Gold PM. I have a buncha bags but this is my "nice" bag. I have yet to wear it. :oh::shocked::P

I tell myself I will carry it next season. That it will be MY summer bag. I promised myself that if I don't, and end up selling it again that I will NEVER AGAIN buy a Massai. That 4 times of buying the same style is ridiculous and borderline insanity.

But when I do take it out of the dustbag, and parade it around the house, it's really love.

I'm very sorry you let that grey one (which is gorgeous, btw! I love gray clothing and accessories) get away. The red PS1+ Zip is really beautiful, but I understand completely when an item just doesn't do it for you and is not that particular one that you had initially wanted. I haven't been watching TRR listing so I don't know how much you paid, but the prices on there tend to be on the lower end, from what I know. So if you do eventually decide to relist the bag, you might break even. It's really beautiful and more of an eye-catcher than the grey one (to most people, that is! :))

ive been thinking on getting a pair of folding sunglasses too. I already have the ease but because of the size of my bags I’m also really interested in the folding ones

Yeah I think I could get most of what I paid back at least, and it came with the original dust bag which helps! I might get some clothes out of storage this weekend and try to see how well I can match it to things. I just feel a bit silly like... I ordered a bag in a color I knew I wouldn't be able to wear, then it when it showed up exactly the color it was described to be, I ended up disappointed! I don't know what I expected. Haha

Thanks! I love them and they've come in handy on countless occasions already.

I think most people here have been in this exact situation at least once :hrmm: :giggle: Sometimes you just want something and when you can't get it, you go for the next best thing, even though it's not quite what you need and you know it...

im gonna get a pair of folding wayferer or Aviators. I’m indecisive which model I want to repeat. I already have both not folding and have my slim case Which helps a lot but I’m really tempted for a folding pair.

I think I’m going with Aviators because the wayferer fit identical to my wayferer ease. I’m a sunglasses addict apart from handbags addict lol.

I don’t think you could go wrong with either style! I’ve had such bad luck with sunglasses in the past (stolen, ran over by a car, etc.) so I stopped buying more expensive styles. But it’s been a while since the last incident so maybe my luck has changed.

I’m sure you luck has changed but stay with RayBan better than any designer pair. Get the whole RayBa collection That’s what I’d love to do.

@Norm.Core , I feel the same way about the Massai, lol.

Me three on the Massai. The Massai cut PM in GT is the only bag still on my wishlist. There was one for sale on TRR a few years ago. I had never seen one in the color so I had never thought about the style. I like to think about things and someone else snapped it up in 2 days. I wonder if it will live up to my dreams IRL or if it will be too saggy to suit me. But I have to find out.

Why do you not wear them after you buy them?

or if it will be too saggy to suit me

I cannot speak for @Norm.Core , but I’ve hesitated on buying a preloved massai for precisely this reason. I believe it was the stunning photo of @More bags that pushed it back onto my radar.

im also debating whether to let go of my last BV hobo for the same. But, it doesn’t take up much room, so it stays.
