Before I begin, let me just say this: Whoever thought that Vuittonite was a good idea - no, whoever I N V E N T E D Vuittonite - that person must be rolling in his grave, laughing right now at our expense. :noggin:

So here's the thing: I bought a pre-loved Trousse Ronde that looked absolutely perfect (on the outside) with the minor (or so I thought) issue of a sticky lining. And having read a post on this thread about how someone managed to scrub the Vuittonite lining clean on their Toiletry Pouch, I was excited to begin this little project of mine.

I grabbed a paper towel (mistake #1), some water and hand soap and started scrubbing the inside - nothing happened. So I was like, "Ok, maybe if I rubbed a little harder.." and soon enough I was literally two hands deep into my Trousse Ronde, literally rubbing the lining onto my hands and leaving a bunch of sticky gunk all over (mistake #2). And before I continue -please don't judge me - I'm completely new at this and was obvious wayyyy over my head on this project.

Fast forward to 15 minutes later, after giving up completely and trying so desperately to scrub the Vuittonite off of my hands, I've succumbed to this project and am here ranting on this forum, hoping for some sympathy because I'm on the verge of breaking down (partly because I now can't get the stickiness off of my hands). H E L P. :crybaby:

I tried scrubbing off the lining of a bucket tote following the many wonderful tips on this forum. It was an extreme fail! I sent the bag to Artbag in NYC to replace the lining. I know it's not original anymore but I LOVE it!

So I have these 2 vintage speedys in mono that are in need of some TLC. I think I'm gonna drop them off at LV & get the handles & zippers replaced on both. Any idea how much they will cost?when they change the zipper, do they change the made in tab and the leather tab on the actual zippers? Thank you :)

Your bag looks amazing! I'm glad it found a new lease on life - so happy for you! 😍

I'll probably send it in to a bag repair shop to see if I have any luck relining it. 🙏🏻

I have a bunch of new purchases I made recently made (pre loved vintage of course) that Ive been slowly rehabbing with the whole sticky lining issue, it seems that its inevitable that stuffs going to peel eventually no matter what if it hasnt already started! :( was going to get quotes from lv about re lining until I saw some of the posts stating the horrendous prices, added to the fact that Ive heard they replace the lining the same crappy stuff that was peeling to start with! seems crazy to me! so hopefully this works out as most of the quotes were well over twice the amount I paid for some of these pieces :( Have to get a larger keepall authenticated this week ( only doing so bc I paid much more than I wanted to for it) so Ill repost an update on what they say at my local boutique

I have:
-demi ronde -(probably *****ering these names at the moment) makeup bag
-larger mens toiletry bag ( not sure exact name of this will have to research it)
-small monogram pochette (believe its the same one that goes in with the bucket bags)
-compiegne 23
-pochette homme clutch bag

Hi. I received 4 discontinued/preloved LV yesterday. All are in great condition with evenly patina vachetta except for my Montsouris GM Backpack. I would like to seek advise on how to make the vachetta clean again & patina evenly. Here is photos of the backpack. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

Ok I've managed to clean most of the stain on backpack above. My problem now is the Vachetta leather looks very dry after cleaning. I applied Vachetta conditioner from LovinMyBags twice but it still look very dry. Please suggest me - what to do ideas

After cleaning/rehabbing the vachetta on my preloved bags I've been using "Cadillac" leather conditioner based on what another blogger posted I believe it was "lollipuff" can't remember but she did a rehab on a speedy and that's what she used and showed before and after (after cleaning her speedy vachetta parts with magic eraser) and it looked good, so far has worked really well for me as well! 😊😊

So I decided to try to revive my vintage speedy b4 bringing to LV for repair. When I got the bag, the vachetta was quite dark but not black. So here is the result - I'm quite happy. It's not done but looks much better

The side tabs are not quite done. But you can see the difference

I think I'll carry on cleaning the vachetta but I'm more or less happy with the results. After that it will be the hardware :)
