What a great job sweetie!!!! It looks stunning! Ok that's it, where do you live, come over to my house and we'll buy a bunch of preloved bags to rehab and gossip over snacks and champagne lol

Haha, I know right? It's like a hobby almost! I'm sure it gave many the idea of starting a bag cleaning service! It's so relaxing too (and a little terrifying when it gets wet and dark haha) I live in LA & London!:) I didn't get around to make much of my profile yet I realize. Still so new in here! It's weird I don't even have an avatar. Uploaded a picture last night. Hm have to check it out! Oooh so happy you think it looks good!! Yay!!! You can see the stains it had on the light straps on the before picture! Now I'm just going to use her and patina her!!😄👜☀️☀️☀️😘💓

Hi does anyone know a good way to clean the fabric around the zipper? And the best product to use? View attachment 2972446View attachment 2972445

I've heard that rubbing alcohol on a q tip works! Open it up before you clean though! Not when it's zipped. And also I've heard you can use just regular foaming soap and water, sparingly!
Dry off with a towel as much as possible as soon as possible, don't get it on the leather, and use a hair dryer on cold or medium heat 20 cm to dry quicker so that the moisture on the brass (zip) doesn't get stained! There are some videos out there too on YouTube:) good luck and let us know how it went! After pic:)))😊

Cool!!! Thanks!!!

Can anyone help?

I wrongly posted this on Doc's Hermes thread. Copied and pasted here in the appropriate forum.

I tried cleaning the dirt off the vachetta handles on my patina-ed LV Ellipse with a damp white sock. It did remove some of the dirt but the lovely sheen on the handles is now gone and the handles are a bit lighter in colour than before, leaving what I presume to be old colour transfer marks more obvious than ever. I have no immediate access to any leather cleaners or conditioners apart from an Australian brand called Shucare (I actually bought the leather balm and the separate cleanser but I've spot tested the balm on a bit of vachetta piping on the base of the bag and it not only turned it dark, it seemed a bit dirtier. It doesn't list any ingredients apart from tea tree oil and has a shoe polish scent. Hmm.)

I probably dried out the vachetta handles and there's still some greyness to them from the dirt. What should I do? Do I order Meltonian, Blakrocks and Obenauf's and wait for the products to arrive? I live in Malaysia. Hot and humid. Plus my air conditioning is busted.

I can't seem to add more than one photo. Will try uploading another.

Here's the dryness I was talking about. Look at those fineline cracks and the dirt. :crybaby:

if you think you need more protection just buy the vachetta set,

I just bought a pre-loved Speedy 35. Here she is before the cleaning. It's a 2006 bag and the canvas is in great condition. The interior has alot of ink stains on the bottom. I've wiped the interior down with a damp cloth and some mild soap. The sides are cleaner but the bottom is a lost cause! But I'm ok with that because I'm going to use a base shaper so that will cover it. I'll post more photos once I polish her up a bit. Still need to polish the brass and wipe down the canvas. I'm taking my time because I don't want to damage her!

Hi all!

I purchased this pre-loved Chantilly online. Believe it or not, it's 20 years old! That said, it has a pretty nice patina on the leather. However, I've noticed a few issues, particularly a little split on one of the holes (below in the first image).

Now, I really don't want to have the vachetta replaced, mostly because the patina is really nice and even and I don't want to have one piece that has such a stark difference in color.

Do any of you have any recommendations on how to fix it? A glue or anything that would help? I would really hate to have this piece tear off, making it unusable.

There are also some small scratches and stains on the leather. I haven't had great experience with using baby wipes, especially with set-in stains. Also, the hardware is pretty darkened and I've used toothpaste to polish up my padlocks on my Speedys, but I'm not sure what to do for hardware on the bag. I wouldn't want anything to ruin the vachetta. If you have any recommendations, let me know, please.

Thank you to everyone who can help!!!

As far as the hardware, I'm currently cleaning up my Speedy 35 and I used Brasso on the hardware and it works just fine. Not sure what anyone else has used but I had no issues. Hope that helps!

I can't see any tears, to me it looks like the hole is a but stretched due to use but looks fine to me :). For the hardwear on my bags I use Blue Magic. It makes it look like new!

Hey peeps! Help!

Just got the Cabas Jour from the Men's S/S15 collection last month and I just saw that the canvas at the bottom of the bag had cracked!

There's a split coming from the hole. Where it looks like just a simple crack, it's actually a split. :\ Thank you for your recommendation, though! Which Blue Magic do you use?
