Thank you to this thread that taught me how to restore the padlock to its former glory.[emoji2][emoji122]
Also gave the bag and vachetta straps a wipe down with baby wipe and it looks brand new.

Hey, do you know how to get rid of the blac little marks on the vachetta? Mine has just started developing some :/
I had some black marks that I removed with a white eraser. Gently rub and then wipe over with a soft cloth. Sometime, I give it a wipe with alcohol free, fragrance free baby wipes. Good luck
Thank you, does it not darken the patina if you use a baby wipe?
Only slightly. It looks dark when it's wet but dries up nicely. The other day I was caught in a sudden downpour and I was stressing out as rain drops fell on my speedy but no water stains. Not sure if it's because I have wiped it down with the baby wipes
Thanks, I'm quite nervous about trying it! But I'll see![]()
I completely understand as there are varying reports on whether to use baby wipes or not. I also spent a lot of time reading the back of baby wipes packaging to make sure I get the ones with as little chemicals as possible. On youtube, Jerusha couture does a nice video about her speedyb and using baby wipes.
Oh thank you! I ended up using just plain water and a flannel because I was so scared and it all came off!!and the patina still looks even and not horribly discoloured like I thought it would! I'll check it out that video with Jerusha couture though, she's sure to have some good tips!
