There's a split coming from the hole. Where it looks like just a simple crack, it's actually a split. :\ Thank you for your recommendation, though! Which Blue Magic do you use?

I use the Blue Magic Metal Polish Cream. I got mine from Amazon :). On the bright side that strap shouldn't be too expensive to replace if you choose to do so in the future.

Please help, maybe I missed the posts. What do I do for sticky linings?
Did you get a reply on this?

If not, I saw a video on how to get a quick/temporary fix. Rub baby powder in a circular motion into the lining until it's blended. It WILL rub off onto whatever it comes into contact with, but it will stop it from sticking/peeling. My suggestion, though, is to get it replaced at an LV boutique.

Hi all!

I purchased this pre-loved Chantilly online. Believe it or not, it's 20 years old! That said, it has a pretty nice patina on the leather. However, I've noticed a few issues, particularly a little split on one of the holes (below in the first image).

Now, I really don't want to have the vachetta replaced, mostly because the patina is really nice and even and I don't want to have one piece that has such a stark difference in color.

Do any of you have any recommendations on how to fix it? A glue or anything that would help? I would really hate to have this piece tear off, making it unusable.

There are also some small scratches and stains on the leather. I haven't had great experience with using baby wipes, especially with set-in stains. Also, the hardware is pretty darkened and I've used toothpaste to polish up my padlocks on my Speedys, but I'm not sure what to do for hardware on the bag. I wouldn't want anything to ruin the vachetta. If you have any recommendations, let me know, please.

Thank you to everyone who can help!!!
Good news! I purchased some leather glue at a craft store and glued the split and some other parts of the shoulder strap. It worked like a charm! I ordered some Apple Brand cleaner and conditioner, as well as Blue Magic polish. I can't wait to restore this gorgeous bag, along with my other babies. :yahoo:

Does anybody know if LV would replace the lining in key holders? Specifically the 4 ring key holder in monogram vernis? I have some peeling, and would like it to be replaced if possible!!

I would have the top edging of leather replaced. This is usually between €75-150 depending on the bag. Then I'd have a shoe repair look at the hole in the piping and see if they can somehow patch it, just to prevent it from expanding wider. Lastly, I'd buy some lovin my bags cleanser and attack that vachetta on the black parts. You'd be surprised what comes off with a but of elbow grease. She doesn't by any means look like a lost cause to me!

Overall condition is good but there's tarnish on the zipper and rivets. The key ring looks good though. Thank goodness there is no eeky smell.

I used brasso to get rid of the tarnish and aldo leather conditioner to clean and condition the inside and outside leather.
