Have you taken her to LV for a quote on replacing the vachetta? It might be time for that if you are not happy with the magic eraser's results.
Yeah I did, and they told me it's gonna be about $700+ to fix the vachetta on the bag, but not on the undetachable strap [emoji53]. That's way too much for a small bag like this
I agree with you.
Must be difficult to reconstruct the bag to replace all the vachetta.
Very interesting thread. A week ago I purchased a Speedy 25 B DE with a chemical smell. I took it to LV and exchanged it today because of the smell and the twisted piping it had. The new bag had a straight piping but the smell on it was the same. So I took the new bag. I have made a thread on it. I saw above the pochette with a smell washed and no smell and looking like new but I cannot wash my bag. I wonder what will take the smell away. I left it outside now in the evening, not in the sun as I don't want to ruin her. Hope the smell goes away with use. The good thing is it is not transferred to the other items in the bag, as I had put them in the previous one.

Not bought anything from the boutique that had a strong smell though there were some TPF'ers who experienced that, esp. with wallets. Could it be the glazing? Because if the canvas itself doesn't smell, wonder what else could cause it?
I hope airing it works and it gets that "new purse" smell soon.

The SA told me that it is probably from the pillow which the bags are stuffed with. The smell is only inside the bag. It is getting better as I am airing it. I am very happy with the piping, it was very important. This is so nice. I love this little bag. I am so happy I sold the 30 for the 25.
I purchased this poor baby from someone who threw it in the washing machine. It cost me $10.00.
The lining was completely trashed, the bottom had rips as did the top.
As you can see she's completely transformed!
July 2015 From LV in Sydney cost was about 360.00 from memory and they gave me a dustbag too!

Nice! Not sure if you want to catch up the vachetta, but window tanning worked wonders for me. Or in the bathroom where it gets a bit steamy.

for turning that bag into a beautiful, luxurious, and LoVed bag! LV did an amazing job!Unfortunately, the baby wipe and white flannel cloth treatment did not work. Rest of vachetta cleaned up great. Might keep trying.
I am considering purchasing a vintage bucket which has been relined, but I'm wondering how much a strap would be to replace? Also the pouch is all sticky. Wasn't sure how much it would all be and if it was worth rescuing. The size of the bag looks really convenient and it's so pretty.
