how much is replacing the handles on speedy???

Thanks!!

I'm not sure of the cost to just replace Speedy handles. It differs for each style, weather it be limited edition, damier or monogram. I had all of the exterior vachetta replaced and it ran over $300. I do not recall the exact figure. You can call your local boutique as ask for an estimate. Good luck!

I restored two pieces that I bought at let-trade using the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser!

here are my before and after pics

I have done this with several bags, amazing what baby wipes can do. I just bought a use speedy and they handles had a nice patina but were dirty. I used baby wipes 2 or 3 times on them, letting the handles dry between and then used some apple care conditioner and they are nice now. I think i'll be able to get a few more years out of the bag before having to change the handles.

You got such great results by cleaning! Congrats of extending the life of those bags for a few more years.

Wow 300 USD is totally worth the change! I love the new look ;)

I remember a TPfer posted a pic of her Speedy 25 where all the vachetta was replaced and it costed about $500++ for her-- does it have something to do with the piece being limited so the cost for replacing all vachetta is a bit lower?

That is great news-

I'm not sure how the price is determined. I know when my SA was looking through the repairs price book, she found that the cerise Speedy was much more expensive to replace than the graffiti. Perhaps size has to do with it as well, maybe smaller bags are more difficult to reassemble.

I just think its always great to know that you can get almost anything replaced on an LV, and breathe some life into it.

It must be the size...hmmm, I hope more members can post before and after make-overs like this. I am loving this thread-- I actually am looking forward to using my speedys now coz Im not really scared anymore to get the vachetta dark.

^ I know how you feel. Knowing that a piece can be restored back to its *almost* original glory takes the fear out of wearing a bag. I love the look of fresh vachetta.
