^^Can you mail it to the closest LV store and have them give you a call when they receive the bag? If you don't agree with the price, they should just send the bag back to you.

Since French Co. speedies were not made by Vuitton, they will not repair or replace parts on them. The French Company stopped repairing their own LV-licensed gooods some time ago, so I'm afraid your best option now is to get an estimate from a leather craftsman.

Don't know if it's too late, but the above isn't quite true. As long as your canvas is not cracked and you haven't had anyone else work on the bag (as far as you know) LV WILL work on it. I took mine in and they replaced the tucky lock and said I could send it in to have the zipper replaced any time I wanted. That said, I collect FCs and IMHO I love that the leather is different and wouldn't want it to be new and replaced. Then, it looks just like any other new speedy, not a French Company. Hope that helped.....:girlsigh:

Do you think this bag can be saved? I emailed the seller and asked about the condition of the canvas.
Looks like a real lost cause to me, though.

Judy, while waiting for seller to respond, check out the tPF FAQs on cleaning vachetta and reconditioning canvas, maybe the datecode thread too (just to check her dating). Based on the selling price, it may be worth it. I'm a hopeless optimist when it comes to vintage. If I got it for a steal, it would be worth the effort to clean it up. Worst case, you could consign it and make back your investment. Just my 2-cents:p. Good luck!

Thanks for the ! Have you looked on let-trade or imagechic.com? Good luck! My philosphy is simple - your bags find you :p. If it's meant, it wil be, at the right time and the right price (still waiting for my Bottega Venetta to find me...).

^I would only recommend using it as a last resort...i had some dirty ones lol! It didn't harm my vachetta at all, it did dry them out though. Nothing a little leather conditioner won't help.

Here's my story: After searching for a Graffiti Speedy for two years, I was unable to find one in my price range in the condition I desired. So I looked into vachetta replacement and decided that was the way to revitalize a well loved bag. After finding him on eBay, I dropped him off at my boutique. Three weeks later, he was back and stunning. Here are the before and after pics.

Hopefully this Graffiti Speedy's story can inspire others to breath some life back into a forgotten LV.
amazing, looks like new

I have my old eyeglass cases that is years old, not even sure what year I bought her. (it is the one with the click snap on top and has a divide inside to hold 2 pair of glasses. The outside is still wonderful after all these years, however the material on the inside is starting to fray Will Lv reline just the inside of a piece and does the piece need to be less than a certain age for LV to work on it
\Many thanks

Looks brand new! How much did you pay to get the vachetta replaced? I'm thinking of getting a Graffiti Speedy and getting the vachetta replaced too.
