I just had the lining replaced on an epi document bag that I can't remember the name of :( and they did a nice job. They lined it in the green pleather they used to use in the Taiga line instead of the original black, but that's okay since the black pleather breaks down so badly in heat. The new lining isn't as well fitted as the original, but overall it looks great! It took about 4 weeks. Now I think I'm going to send my Monceau in to have the lining replaced as well. The pocket has become sticky, but what can one expect after 15 years of use?

Oh, the cost of the repair was $200.

wow i am sold on this speedy !! it looks soooo good but does anyone think if I find a speedy thats maybe a lil too old lv may not replace I dont want to get one and then stuck with ugly old vachetta

I am proud to announce that I am now joining this club (as well as few others. actually!) I just purchased my first LV, a pre-loved red epi souflott. From the pics, I can tell it's dirty, but otherwise in good condition. I am looking forward to receiving it and cleaning it up, then showing it off!!!

In that vein, does anyone know if LV will replace straps on epi pieces? My new to me soufflot has a stain on the handles, and I was wondering if LV might replace the handles on it?

I love buying LV's that are a little dirty and worn down because it usually doesn't take much effort to get them looking great again! The magic eraser is awesome in cleaning the leather....I have used it on three mc almas whos bottoms were very dirty, and it made them look great. I have also done this with various speedy's.....I will have to post some pics soon!

I LOVE this thread. thank you for starting it! I've rescued most of my collection! Most of my stuff comes from let-trade and they are wonderful. Only problem I've found is the smell from it being so humid there. I'm undecided on which is worst, mildewy or moth-bally:P. I've Fabreezed, used fabric-softner and even cleaned by hand with a mild spray cleaner.

Does the eraser address smell at all??? I'll try it anyway cuz my bucket bag bottom is in some sorry shape!

I'm glad I'm not alone in being an avid rescuer! It's great to meet all of you!

I guess I can join this club!:smile1:
I purchased my *new to me* petit bucket from eBay just about a week ago! After about a hour in surgery, she came out good as new!
I too believe in "recycling" old LV's, especially if they just need some TLC, it's totally worth it IMO!! They just need a little LoVe;)
