I just got a pre-loved speedy and I decided to clean her up. I first applied apple care conditioner generously and then dipped magic clean eraser into more apple care and used soft strokes on the vachetta. As you can see, the patina on the handles evened out a bit. Then I used brasso to remove dirt and grime stuck in the scratches in the hardware which worked wonderfully. I'm happy with the results :speedy:
Sorry for huge photos!

I have a Louis Keepall 45 with Shoulder Strap. My shoulder strap is starting to wear out and crack a little bit; the handles look a little shabby too. The bag is from 1989 but the canvas is still in mint condition. Does anyone know about how much it would cost to have all the leather replaced on this one? Would possibly conditioning the leather save it? I can post some pictures.

Has anyone had the piping on their speedy 30 replaced recently? Tonight I noticed a small hole in the piping of my pre-owned Speedy. I've only had it for 2 weeks and I'm wondering what the repair will cost.

Its great to see that many of you are opting for rescuing and repairing LVs. I dropped ff my LV excursion this past weekend at my local LV store in Antwerp, and asked for a quote to change all the leather, including piping. I received a quote today for 665 euro. So my question, I guess, is should I have the repair done? What do you guys think? It is my first LV, so I am kinda attached to that, but at the same time, its almost the cost of a new LV, though they are discontinued now.

I'm so glad I got my wallet & cles back after repairs. My Sarah Wallet had all of the "sides" renewed I guess ... I don't know what it's called. & I got the gold clasp on the cles replaced since it was peeling off horribly. My wallet looks brand new after costing me $140 :( It's only been 2 years, but it was a gift from my bf so I'd rather repair it & keep it than sell it & purchase a new one. The cles was free to replace since it was a manufacture defect. :D

carrolch - your rescue looks stunning. Replacing the leather and hardware is a great way to extend the life of a bag - especially if it has sentimental value. Congrats!

Mine doesn't have much of sentimental value besides the fact that it'll be my first budget LV just for a new start for me to not spend anymore expensive bags since I got it at a great price. I put a stop for myself to buy expensive bags so getting this LV is like an accomplishment somewhat of a sentimental value. Is it still worth it? :( I feel like the people in here are saying the bags aren't worth getting repaired unless it has sentimental value.
