I m thinking to buy this bag for my everyday use, it is used bag which i am planning to change the whole leather. I checked with LV, It could easly cost S$500 do you think it is worth to buy and change it? so i am wondering if i just clean it with apple cleaner and magic eraser whether it will be okay and still worth buying?

btw I am wondering what is this sticky on the handle? Is it mold or smtg?

Do you have any idea what is white sticky on the canvas? is it mold or smtg?

^The sticky in the 1st pic looks like the green color copper roofs turn into over the years. I think it could only happen after a long time in humid climate, although it's the part handled every time the bag is opened/closed..

Not sure if magic eraser would react with the metal rivet, I'd not recommend magic eraser anyway imho. Perhaps first try removing the green with a toothpick and then use apple cleaner, it's nicer to the leather.

Fyi I took in my very abused pochette, the regular sized one, to get the whole zipper apparatus replaced.

My quote was $105 for the whole zipper, zipper pull, d ring, heat stamped leather tab.

New strap was not included. I am going to get a long strap to wear it cross body.

Seems expensive for what it is, but the canvas is in good shape so it will be like a whole new bag. It can be a little kick around cross body.

I have the Galleria PM and wore it with my leather coat. The handle and topside are absolutely filthy. Just called Louis Vuitton store and they're estimating $600-$700 to replace handle and leather (minus piping) and estimates 6-8 weeks for turnaround. This is depressing.

NO, NO, NO!! You can get a bag in nice condition for $500-$550. That bag is not worth it especially with those scrapes on the canvas. Even if it was free I don't think it would be worth it to spend that much on a repair for something you aren't sentimentally attached to. Check bonanza, ebay, and yoogis closet. HTH

Knock knock, may I come in with my new to me Sac Plat ?
I replied to an ad on Gumtree about another bag. That one had been sold, but she no longer wanted this one :( because of the state of the lining.

And after 2 weeks with the wonderful LV team in Singapore here she is .......

It cost AU$500, but it was such an amazing job, they replaced the D ring, and I even gained pockets which she didn't have before. They also told me I should get another 12 to 15 years out of the new lining at least :)
