Here's my story: After searching for a Graffiti Speedy for two years, I was unable to find one in my price range in the condition I desired. So I looked into vachetta replacement and decided that was the way to revitalize a well loved bag. After finding him on eBay, I dropped him off at my boutique. Three weeks later, he was back and stunning. Here are the before and after pics.![]()

Hopefully this Graffiti Speedy's story can inspire others to breath some life back into a forgotten LV.
This club makes me want to go out and find an unwanted and neglected patient! Lol anyone know the price of replacing handles/ vachetta on a speedy in the US?

Remember, I used Simple Green, a scrub brush, Kiwi Leather cleaner.
We used all the same things for her bag.
Her bag listing pics, sticky lining!

Cleaning the Pouchette you will loose the date code but you can use the bag! I think that's a great trade!

TA-DA!
There is a PM bucket on the way for my sister, I guess I'll also be in the market for one too!
Wow you did a great job! I have to wonder what the heck all that sticky stuff was in the bag? Did the seller tell you what it was? Did it have a smell? It just looked so gross.![]()
Good job! Your bags look great. Do you end up dunking the whole bag?
Nice! I've never been afraid of leather rehabs but canvas is another story. Good to know.Thank you!
I have dunked the entire bag, in the last 2 rehabs... I figure if they can make luggage that lasts a lifetime, I shouldn't be afraid to get it wet!
I have a Speedy 30 that's 31 years old and it looks great! I'm not afraid to take them out in the rain either! I do clean them about once a month or when ever I get a new one!![]()

Thanks!
Well, when I bought the GM bucket I never imagined I could do this to the bag! I had read a bit about "Sticky Linings & pockets" I thought maybe it wouldn't be so bad... I was wrong! I looked at that bag after opening the package and thought... OMG, how do I clean that! I looked around to see what cleaning agents I had, thought acetone might work but really didn't want to put that strong of a chemical to my bag! Acetone takes off paint!
I went to the garage and found a big jug of Simple Green and thought, it's not a harsh chemical, it's bio-degradable, so I tried that... Lo and behold... It worked! Plus it doesn't have a strong bad smell... Just a Simple Green smell that subsides in a couple weeks! Use Simple Green with nice warm water. Hot water really don't matter.
I've since used Dawn liquid, and Clorox 2 because at the top of the bag after cleaning it, it has a dark almost brown (dirty) looking color.
Dawn liquid soap works ok with warm water too! I figured if they use it on ducks and wildlife to get oil off them it won't hurt my bag!
Clorox 2 didn't do much to the brown (dirty) looking color of the inside lining of the bag...
I used Mink Oil on the leather and canvas but I'm not a fan... It makes the bag feel sticky to me. I like the Kiwi Leather Lotion best it seems to soften the leather best, It's inexpensive, and easy to find!
I am trying different cleaning methods on this PM just to see what it can take. The leather is a bit darker than before I cleaned it and I'm hoping it will dry a bit lighter...
