The LV Rescue club is for those who have chosen to give life to a bag who may have seen better days. Weather it involves a few repairs, cleaning or replacement, the LV Rescue club wishes to recognize these revitalized LVs and their owners. No bag is too old, too worn or too abused. All LVs are beautiful, sometimes it just takes some extra LoVe to bring them back to life.

Please share your story and pics of your rescue:

Btw I love the transformation. It looks like a brand new bag!

Hey all, new(er) here. Mostly a lurker. Just want to submit photos of an Alma that I am going to try to clean a little. (Excuse the stove, I clean on the weeknds and that pic was taken on Wednesday lol).

I got her from a recent Beyond the Rack haul. I want an Alma, but this one is the smaller version. Not the baby, but the standard/medium size. I want the large one. Anyway, it's in decent shape, save the scuff marks on the corners. Her date code is from 1994, so I think for a bag that is nearly 20 years old- she's looking pretty darn good. Hopefully, I can make her look better!

Here's my story: After searching for a Graffiti Speedy for two years, I was unable to find one in my price range in the condition I desired. So I looked into vachetta replacement and decided that was the way to revitalize a well loved bag. After finding him on eBay, I dropped him off at my boutique. Three weeks later, he was back and stunning. Here are the before and after pics.

Hopefully this Graffiti Speedy's story can inspire others to breath some life back into a forgotten LV.

Wow! How much did it cost to have all the vachetta replaced? Nice speedy :)

YES! I would also be interested in an estimate. I have a Montsouris that has lived life to the full and really needs a makeover. Also, how long did it take to have the restoration done?

Hi! Im wondering if you had your Montsouris restored at the boutique? Im thinking of having the vachetta replaced and needed some opinions. Thanks!

I haven't posted on TPF for a long time. But I had to share this!!

I accidentally found an authentic Beverly GM for $400. I had it verified of course:) Everything about the bag was great except for the leather corners and the handles. The exterior mono canvas and the interior were perfect so I snatched it up thinking I could figure out something.

For LV replace all the vachetta it would run $1000 -$1300 for the Bev GM. No thank you. Would rather put that toward a new bag!!That is a quote from my fave LV store ;)

SO instead I took it to a leather guy I had heard awesome things about in Scottsdale. He cleaned, conditioned and dyed the vachetta....I only have one before pic of a corner. The corner looks better in the photo then in real life. In real life the leather looked awful, like it had been rolled in dirt.

Though it is not exactly like a new LV but it looks damn good considering the price I paid for the bag and the cost to fix it which was $75! The color is very rich and clean looking. The dye will last about 3 years if I use the bag daily much longer if I rotate. I rotate weekly so I am sure I will get more out of that dye job, but who cares for that kind of money right? I know it would be hard to resell but I don't care. I will probably give it to my Mom eventually anyway.

Here are two photos. The photo of the corner area of the vachetta on the Beverly is my bag. The handles are NOT by bag but is an example of how bad my handles looked before the repair/refurbishment.

Here are after photos of my Beverly. I was worried the vachetta would look fake or plastic-y or feel sticky but it all turned out amazing! I am thrilled with the results and shocked how wonderful it all turned out.:D

WOW. What a great deal!

400 for a Beverly is an insane deal. Even better that your leather came out better than you expected.

I tried to post photos of my restoration but for some reason they don't show up *shrug*

What kinds of questions did you ask the leather guy to check him out? There is someone who is recommended highly in my area on Yelp! but I don't know what I should ask before letting him sew the zipper back on my Speedy 40. Sure to be cheaper to let him do it than the LV boutique. lol

I asked him about his process and looked at bags he had worked on. The man I work with gets bags in from all over the world, even Hermes. Maybe try him out. http://www.cobblersdenaz.com/ He is truly a genius!;)

I just spoke with him. Or maybe it was the son? Either way AMAZING personality. Very helpful and personable. Didn't even hesitate when I asked if they could put the old slider (this is a vintage Speedy, so I'd like to keep it as vintage as possible) back on the new zipper. He quoted me a very reasonable price. I could definitely see sending him my bag for repair! Thanks for sharing the link!

Awesome! Did you tell him you heard about them through TPF?
