Hi everyone, my first post!! Eek. So I've rescued a few bags in the past, Burberry Prorsum, Gucci and Mulberry but these are my first 2 Louis Vuitton.
I initially wanted to save the vachetta on the 2004 speedy but I couldn't. So I did this with it instead and handmade a new zipper pull. It's been a VERY well used bag and has cracks but overall I think it looks ok? Thoughts?
The 1989 petit noe in Kenyan fawn was just touched up and cleaned.

Hey Everyone! Hope you all are doing well!

Just wanted to share my latest adventure. I've had her for a while now, but knowing it would take a lot of time to complete I had put it off several times.

2003 Multicolor Portefeuille International Wallet - darkened vachetta, canvas fade and discoloration, interior stains. Functionally sound.

Vachetta dye and interior coming soon!
How did it turn out with Angelus paint? I have found a MC Speedy also with discolorations and would like to rehab it.

I used Angelus paint on my speedy in the Vachetta colour. I'm being honest I found the colour a bit too orange? And actually painted it and then took it ALL off I then mixed the Vachetta with Angelus beige and the colour can be seen in my pictures. I'm going to be honest and say I'm still not sure I love the colour and almost think black would have been the easy option I'm attaching one of just the Vachetta and one of the Vachetta/beige

Hi everyone, what do you think I should do with my azur key pouch to make it brighter (see pic versus a newer cosmetic pouch)? I've tried magic eraser on the white parts and there's really no difference. Is painting it the only way to go? Thanks!

Gentle soap like Dove and water and an old tooth brush. Use just enough water for the soap to foam a little. Then rinse with a little bit of water and use a clean towel to dry. If it does not work you can try the Angelus cleaner that is said to be ok with canvas.

Thanks for replying! Sadly, I've already tried soap, but didn't work at allI.

I was thinking maybe the canvas print has been erased? Like when I look at it closely I think the gray coating is the "under layer" of the canvas coz this is 15 yrs old was in storage for the past 5+ years. Or is this just color transfer?

I think it's definitely not dirt at this point.

Thanks!

It looks like a mixture of the canvas print rubbing off and colour transfer to canvas from dark denim. Unfortunately, neither of the issues can be reversed.

Leave it alone and love it.
Anymore cleaning or scrubbing and you will be on the inside of your cles.

Hello there, I wanted to share my rescue experience.
I purchased a speedy 35 from 1986 and I paid $200 for it. Let me tell you this bag needed some love. She was in bad shape, all of the hardware was pretty much black and rusted. The vachetta was cracked and dry but the canvas was perfect. I decided to try to clean it as best as I could but while cleaning it I was a little too aggressive and accidentally tore off the zipper pull. I knew I wanted to replace it ASAP but I didn’t want the leather to be mismatched. I decided to invest in her and change all of the outside vachetta. She looks amazing!!!! Almost like a brand new bag. I paid $540 to change the vachetta and for under $800 I pretty much got a brand new bag with quality canvas. I attached a photo of her transformation. I say preloved is the way to go when it comes to the monogram canvas.
