Hi. I bought this at a really good price and I love it, but....the strap is really bad! I searched the forum if any one had suggested a replacement strap but found no answers . There are some small cracks that don't bother me, but ive used fabric glue before and didn't work well. This canvas is really thick compared to other bags I have! Any suggestions about the strap please? Thank you IMG_20180720_154738.jpg IMG_20180720_154815.jpg

You could use a Magic Eraser on the tab to lighten it, but it will dry out the leather so would probably need to use a leather conditioner on it afterwards.
Or you could just get the handles and tabs replaced by LV.

I’m going to have to just get them replace from LV because the cracking isn’t going to get better. Do you happen to know is the handles and tabs priced together or do they charge separate?

Just dropped off my 21 year old speedy 30 to get all the outside vachetta replaced. The quote I received was $595 + tax. I didn't need the interior pocket done since it is in great shape. The handles were really cracked and the zipper tab was gone! I purchased the bag from Japan a few years ago and love the thick canvas...so super excited. Let the wait begin...

I recently won this 2008 PM NF and already nervous about the condition. Once received, I can post more pics but wondering how should I renovate it and the leather look better? It will be a gift or my DD next year and I want to make it look as nice as possible.

I am also worried about the inside since I did not see pics.

You can try to clean it up with magic eraser and conditioner. If that fails, you can always get the vachetta replaced at LV as long as there aren't any cracks on the canvas. Good luck with your project!
Thanks! I think that may be the only option for the leather. Fingers crossed the canvas is not cracked. I am nervous about the inside.

I think it looks pretty but then I like patina-ed vachetta.
There are a number of posts and youtube videos etc on how to refurbish LV e.g. https://www.lollipuff.com/blog/223/how-to-refurbish-a-louis-vuitton-bag#comment-start=end

Maybe it's just me but I don't see anything wrong with this bag . Maybe just some conditioner and wipes will do . I'd love to receive it as a gift . the only way you're going to get pristine vachetta is if it's brand new.
