It was $60. Was about 5 weeks total, got it back once after 3 weeks and there was some crooked stitching. It was sent back and redone. How much was the repair cost for the trim? How long did it take?

Wow! Was this at a cobbler or LV repaired it?It was $60. Was about 5 weeks total, got it back once after 3 weeks and there was some crooked stitching. It was sent back and redone.
It was at LV. The handles and side cinches are a lot more so I'm going to do that later this year. But the trim had to get done.Wow! Was this at a cobbler or LV repaired it?
$2?? That's crazy . Walker? I'm sure others have more experience but I have found those transfers very difficult especially if set in aawhile, so I dye vernis. I've dyed the outside only a couple times it works well but in this case I'm not sure because when I dye I choose a colour that would be dark enough to cover it. If you didn't want to dye it I'm not sure cause I've tried all the things they say (alcohol, erasers of various types, baking soda, laundry stuff etc etc) and never had any luck. The inside looks pretty great and what a nice colour .
hi guys! this thread is amazing, i love seeing old bags turning into new "right off the boutique" like bags.
i'm looking for a vintage LV montsouris and i recently found one for a good price but it has a big stain at the bottom, so i was wondering if there's an easy way to get rid of it before i make any purchase.
thanks in advance

Hi there! Do a search with keywords "sticky inside". Lots of rescuers here did it but you need patience and persistence. This thread is a very understanding club because all of us here believe in rescuing or upcycling old LVs rather than let it go to the trashcan. Here’s my story ladies need help!
So I purchased a LV Sac Plat bag on eBay. They lady I bought it from told me it was great condition on the outside and sticky on the inside. I got it yesterday and it was beautiful on the outside the inside was a different story. It was pretty bad not just sticky but gooey and gross! So I read on here that people have taking off that sticky lining with simple green. I was able to get it all off last night but it was a mess and the fabric was still sticky and gross. So I took it to the LV store today and it would be $480 to reline it which I paid $125 for the bag already. I really don’t want to spend that so the store told me there was a shoe marker in the mall that they send customers to and he is familiar with LV repairs. So I went to him and he said he would reline it for $200 he’s going to do a light brown leather inside and going to condition the leather handles. And replace the leather pieces that are attached to the handles because they are very dried out and cracking. He’s also going to clean up the Canvas. So my question is did any of you ladies reline your LV and if so with leather? I’m not sure how it’s going to look. I asked if he had the brown cloth he said he can do that as well but thinks the leather would look beautiful in it. He’s also going to replace the Louis Vuitton made in France tag. I’m completely nervous about this haha I have never gotten any of my bags repaired. Is $200 a good price for all of that? Please help here are photos of the inside that I tried to remove the lining but still sticky. I watched a video where the lady removed the whole lining leaving the back side of the canvas. Is that an option? View attachment 4124051

You got a good price on this used Sac Plat. I think you should really consider getting the repair done through Louis Vuitton. Yes, it's pricier, but the results are fantastic and it will be well-worth it in my opinion. Especially because the Sac Plat is about to make a return in the collection so its price will be Also, if you get it repaired by a cobbler, Louis Vuitton will never service this bag again. You risk turning a vintage Louis Vuitton bag into some weird bag that will look like a fake. Here’s my story ladies need help!
