Gave this GORGEOUS BUCKET GM a make over! Soooo happy with the results. Before/After.

It looks beautiful [emoji846]
My first LV was a petit bucket gifted to me in HS and I had the lining replaced a few years ago. The vachetta has the perfect light honey patina. Still one of my favorite pieces and I plan to hand it down to my niece when she is old enough.
Would you mind sharing the cost of the repair? You don’t have to of course, but there is so much interest in the vintage buckets it might be helpful for people who are considering a restoration.
Wear it in good health!

Thank you! Of course, to have all vachetta and hardware replaced it cost $540. The workshop made a mistake and sent the bag back to my SA without redoing the feet, so LV waive the charge for the lining. I also think they waived the charge, due to how long it took them complete the bag ( 4 months). But the wait was well worth it :))

Lucky you! That is a long time for a repair though.

Hi,
I hope I can ask this question here since LV rescue heroes hang out here :)
I'm looking at a preloved 2005 Speedy 25 but it has ink stains inside (outside looks good). Can Ink stains like these be removed? The Asking price is $360 and I don't know if it is worth the price for the condition? Also I don't know if the ink stain like this already damaged the outside of the canvas?
Thank you for your advice.

Ink stains are actually easy to remove. Please refer to the link I'm attaching below. Post #1354 & #1356.

I will be giving this 1995 Noe beauty a makeover (new vachetta and hardware) I would really like to keep the original hardware it feels so much more substantial than what LV uses now. And the canvas on this beauty is so thick. Will share photos when she's back home.

I got super interested reading this thread and just bought a bucket bag PM to try to restore:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/232570965508

The seller says the canvas is ok though some of the pictures show some white stuff on it. I'm hoping it will wash off and the canvas isn't actually damaged. I'm happy that it came with the pouch even though it looks disgusting in the pictures.

Here are my current plans. Please let me know if there is something I should do different! I'm basically doing the home spa for box calf guide I found earlier in this thread with some changes to account for removing the sticky lining:

1) Clean canvas with baby wipes/warm water/diluted dawn soap (if needed)
2) Wipe down vachetta with baby wipes
3) Condition/clean vachetta parts with Blackrock Leather N' Rich and let sit for 3ish hours
4) Condition again with Blackrock and let it sit again for 3ish hours if leather is still looking dry
5) Wash off sticky lining with Simple Green
6) Condition any vachetta that got wet with Blackrock
7) Wait for bag to fully dry
8) Use Obenauf's leather protector on vachetta
9) Let bag rest overnight and do another coat of Obenauf
10) Do final coat of Blackrock

Does this sound ok? I want to prevent the leather from cracking by all means. It already looks dried and scuffed in the pictures and I worry that washing out the sticky lining may make it worse.

I haven't ordered any products yet either so I'm also open to recommendations to other conditioners as well! Thanks in advance :)

I would just resell it before putting any money into it, it's a too old bag in too bad condition, price is good though.
