I would just resell it before putting any money into it, it's a too old bag in too bad condition, price is good though.
You think so? I didn't think it looked too bad. Or do you think it's not worth the effort without having to get the leather replaced? The supplies would only run me $25-$30 so I figured that's not too much. I was hoping to be able to at least clean up the pouch and keep that and maybe resell the bag for the same price if the project seemed too daunting.

I will be giving this 1995 Noe beauty a makeover (new vachetta and hardware) I would really like to keep the original hardware it feels so much more substantial than what LV uses now. And the canvas on this beauty is so thick. Will share photos when she's back home.
Can you share how much they are charging for all the vachetta replacement? I'm thinking of going that route for a petit noe. TIA

not just the money to spend on it, also the time, to clean up the inside (I never done that) I guess would be 4, 5 hours work, to me, it's not worth for for a bag can only be sold for under $200.

I was quoted $760 for all leather & metal parts replaced. But I not to long ago had a, bucket bag gm redone and was quoted $660, but the final cost was $540. Im in California, don't know if my location charges the price. Hope this helps : )

I see, thank you for your input. I'll reassess the bag when I get it. I think if the leather looks ok then I will try to clean it up because I would like to actually use it too. If that is the case then I think it will be worth the time spent on it (partly because I like DIY projects). You're right though in that it's not worth it for resale. If I have to get any of the leather replaced, then I won't keep it as that's not worth it for me for an old bag.

thanks. That sounds about right. I was quoted around the same when I inquired about a petit noe I had. Alas it was stolen this summer with 8 SLG inside. I was devastated. My mom and hubs replaces most of the SLGs for my birthday but I'm still pining for a petit noe. I was unable to locate one last month for my birthday. they were sold out in Ca when I visited. Oh well..thinking about the preloved/repair way to go. We'll see.

O wow, that is HORRIBLE! Yes, you should go the pre-loved/repair route! I think you will LOVE IT! The older bags canvas is so much thicker than the new bags, which I really appreciate! LV does really good work when they repair older bags, thats been my experience. If you do go the pre-loved/repair route you will have a brand new bag with some of the best canvas LV has been known for : )
